Teluk Batik beach is a very popular spot with the locals. You will find it an irresistible attraction for picnics as well as swimming. It provides all the conveniences you need for a good time, with chalets, mini chalets, food stalls, public bathrooms and changing rooms, recreation centre and seminar halls, so you can visit it at anytime you want.
Go Swim

Pulau Pangkor is the place to go for a picnic in Perak.
Other beaches more easily accessible are Teluk Batik, near Lumut, and Pasir Panjang, Segari.
Most other coastal areas are muddy and overgrown with mangroves and not suitable for swimming.
You could also swim in the rivers and streams at the foothills.

Direction:
Turn left towards Teluk Batik road(opposite the navy flats) from Lumut(after the main traffic lights)...go straight abt 500m u'll c a small road on the right(bfr Sherwood Cove marina)...turn right and follow the road leading towards the sea.
Here u'll find the villages of fisherman and a small hut serving "Laksa" & "Ais Kacang"(See picture).
Just sit & relax, enjoy the view and sea breeze...

"Off The Beaten Path"
Strictly no swimming here because of the rocky shore. People are here just for the seafood at a nearby restaurant.
"A Panoramic View of The Beach"
This place is secluded and the least popular but is a good spot to watch the sunset.

Should I go to Lumut and Teluk Batik?
by hitman23
Is Lumut worth seeing? How much time should I spend there?
Also, how's the beach at Teluk Batik?
Any recommendations for hotels and/or places to eat in both of these places?
Finally, when is Pesta Laut this year? I'll be in the region in August.
Thanks!

there's nothing much in Lumut..people usually go there in order to get to Pulau Pangkor..other than that, i don't thing there's much to do there..the beaches are not as nice as the east coast..
if u r going to be in Malaysia in August n r interested in beaches, u might as well check out the islands in the east coast instead..there're pulau tioman, pulau perhentian, pulau redang etc..August is a great time to check out these islands!!
