HI,

I travelled the same way to Swiss Garden before. My plan was took the highway from KL then took the old road to Kelly's Carstle then stop in between for lunch then parked my car at Lumut port and took a ferry to Swiss Garden. They have boat to Pulau Pangkor from Swiss Garden.

Travel Tips for Lumut

Driving to Lumut enroute to Pangkor

by reezal

If ure driving to Lumut heading towards Pangkor Island, there are various places to park ur car.
Cost from free(no security), 5/day to 15/day(covered parking with security)...

BUT if ure staying at Pangkor Laut or Pan Pacific Pangkor, u don't need to worry about parking as the hotel will arrange.

time for golf

by eelaine

golf is one of the activities that you can indulge in when staying in damai laut.. it seems to be a pretty popular golfing destination.. i'm not a golfer myself, so i can't say much about it.. and i suppose u get to play golf by the sea? :)

mysterious trip back in time..

by eelaine

the kellie's castle is actually quite a popular destination in perak.. but i put it here coz if you're headed to lumut, this is an optional detour that will make your trip more interesting.. the castle was built in the late 19th century by an english rubber tycoon, william kellie smith.. the story goes that smith left for england to bring back what would have been the first elevator in the country for the four storey tower in the castle.. however, he never returned and the castle was never completed..

Nice Houses Behind The Town

by gnh

Beautiful bungalows lie behind the town facade.

These are Government Quarters, for higher ranking officers, like the District Engineer, the District Officer, who usually has the biggest official residence in the district.

But wait till you see the private residences ! Not that many in Lumut, but elsewhere in the district.

A Lovely Garden

by gnh

And you don't see many people using it - what a waste !

Though it could be busy in the evenings with families taking a stroll, it is very quiet and tranquil in the mornings........................
