    Sea Activities

    by

There is a fishing activity in the morning. The fisherman will pull their net on the hotel beach and you can help them to pull the net. You can get the see so many surprises in their catch of the day

Unique Quality: Various type of funny fish can be found

    Relaxing resort with good food

    by

We book several rooms during the chinese new year holidays and the reception told us it was very pack at that season. They could not give us all the rooms for us to check in by 2pm. THe last room we got is only at 4pm. However, the management apologised for the late check-in and waived our surcharge for the peak season which is RM50 for each room. We are really surprised for their good service

Unique Quality: Have good facilities such as free games, volleyball, ping-pong. Food is especially good for dinner where we sit by the seaside, looking at the sunset and enjoy our dinner. However, you need to be early to get a good seating facing the sea.

Directions: There is a special ferry service (yellow color) from lumut jetty that takes you direct to this resort. Upon reaching the jetty at pangkor island, you will be fetch to the resort by the shuttle bus.

    Pleasant Weekend Getaway

    by

This resort used to be known as the Pan Pacific Pangkor. It has its own jetty where passengers can be dropped of from the ferry.

There are two hotel wings and some bungalows for those who want some extra privacy. Considered about the best that Panglor has to offer, this resort is a favourite with corporate groups.

It has a few nice pools, and beach is suitable for swimming although the water is not as clear as in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Unique Quality: Package deals available for corporate groups (eg. meeting packages or team buoilding) and families.

Residents of Malaysia and their families may enjoy a second room at 50% off when two rooms are taken at the same time.

by saa73 about Teluk Dalam Resort, Pangkor

The Teluk Dalam Resort is situated at a bay on the northeast corner of Pangkor Island. The resort features chalet type accommodation away from the main tourist areas of Pangkor Island. The ferry ride from Lumut town on the mainland takes approximately 30 mins and the jetty is about 5 mins bus ride from the resort. This is the same jetty used by the more upmarket, 5-star Pangkor Island Beach Resort.
I took the "Aloha 123" package for RM123 per person per night, which included breakfast and dinner. Hence for a couple it cost us RM246 per night.
Although ranked as 4-star accommodation, it was disappointing as there was no room service, and the overall landscaping of the resort was unkempt. The management could have at least hired good gardeners to cut the grass and pluck out the weeds!
Food was nothing to shout about, but unless you have transport there's no other choice.
The beach was disappointing. The better beaches were situated at Coral Bay or Teluk Nipah, which is around 3-5 km away and a RM10 one-way taxi ride. Luckily for us we rented a small Kancil car for RM100 per day, which gave us the freedom to get out of the resort! There was simply no place to chill out and relax in the resort. We couldn't sleep till midnight because the live band was playing all night, and the singer was simply atrocious!
I would not recommend this resort as it was not worth the money. Either go for low budget at the Teluk Nipah or Pantai Bogar area, or go upmarket and try out the Pangkor Laut Beach Resort or even Pangkor Laut.
I guess, this would be OK for mid range budget travellers with children, or for corporations looking for a place to hold the family day outings or team building.
With proper management, this resort has the potential to be a great getaway! Good location, quiet, nestled within the hills in a quiet bay. Right next to the airport (Berjaya Air flies in a couple of times weekly).

Fantastic stay

we stayed 11 lovely days at the Pangkor Island Beach Resort. I was first afraid my 2 children would feel bored (18 and 11 years old) but they really enjoyed their stay at the PIBR and felt very sad when time to leave arrived.
Our Ocean wing room facing the sea was very clean and well furnished. No claim against the housekeeping. Staff very friendly and helpful even if some guests are not so kind with them !! The 2 pools are fantastic and well maintened. The white sandy beach is fantastic indeed and you really can feel alone when walking along. Some jellyfishs some very hot days but nothing serious. The beach is cleaned every day at very early morning so you find a marvelous beach waiting you to dive into the water. Meals are however a little expensive for the region (around 15 Euros / person because of taxes) and service at the "a la carte restaurant "a little slow but staff so nice that you forgive them for their slowness. We had a very nice and hot weather with no rain. We will definitely return to Pankgor Island Beach Resort and my children are already begging for the next year vacation.

We didn't want to leave so we stayed an extra day!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Pangkor Island Beach resort. I though 6 days would be too long but we didn't want to leave and so extended our stay an extra night. The food was good in the buffet - excellent in the restaurant - especially the lobster. We didn't go into Pangkor to eat as it was so nice to sit by the beach, watch the sun go down spping a cocktail and sunter leisurely for dinner. The pools were lovely, the beach amazing and we never felt like we were crowded out. Sometimes we had the beach to ourselves - bliss

My daughter is 13 and I was worried that she would be bored - however, there were enough activities to keep her amused - she met up with another girl her age and spent hours kayaking and snorkling around the bay. There were children having fun but quiet places by the pool too.

The weather was fantastic - raining and storming at night but sunny and hot in the day. (Though nothing less than factor 30 prevents burning!). The see was mostly calm, no stingers, gently shelving sands, backed by jungle covered hills.

The hotel was lovely, staff friendly, rooms clean and well presented. For the price it was amazing luxury and having had a sneak look into Pangkor Laut I would say it was much better value.

Only thing to mention is that the weekend was very busy with a very large party (200) of Malays from a company treat (I wish the NHS did that!) and a large party of Japanese. But peace returned on Monday.

I wonderful place to go.

PURE LUXURY

by TripAdvisor Member LOWESTOFT MEMBER

Pangkor Island Beach Resort is set on it's own private beach which is reached by a 30 min boat ride from Lumut. Travelling by car from Kuala Lumpur to Lumut takes 3hrs 45mins.

This hotel is a must for those wanting to escape the hustles and bustles of life and to enjoy peace and tranquility in perfect setting.

Having originally stayed at this hotel in 2005, we vowed to return and did so in January 2007. The entire staff and management pride themselves on customer care and do all in their power to ensure you have a perfect holiday. They are a credit to the travel industry.

We stayed in one of the Ocean rooms which were pure luxury with amazing views looking out onto the pool and beach. The sunsets were like what you see in expensive travel brochures, and words alone cannot describe just how lovely these were.

Breakfast is included in the price. For just 65 ringetts (£10) for evening meal you can chose to dine buffet style with a vast choice of gastronmic delights catering for both western and asian palates.

The evenings are fairly low key with a Philipino band playing well known songs from the 70's to modern day classics. There is a seperate bar which is fully air conditioned in which to relax and enjoy the fantastic views looking out onto the ocean.

The beach consists of a sweeping bay which takes no more than 15mins to walk from one end to the other. A swim in the sea is like taking a dip in a warm bath. At times there are several jelly fish washed up onto the shore but I have never personally seen any in the water whilst swimming.

The island is occupied by a number of monkeys which are often seen in the grounds near the pool. Although they are cute they are also thieves and will often take the opportunity to rifle through any bags left on the sun-beds to look for food.

If you are looking to get away from it all to relax in the perfect setting without any hassles then you can be sure this is the place to stay.

Pangkor Island Beach Resort Question

by Betsid

Hi
Am staying at the Pangkor Island Beach Resort for 4 nights over Xmas and just wondered how close we would be to restaurants and bars (not those on the hotel complex)?
We are aware that Pangkor is a quiet place and that is good a good thing, as we are going there to relax, but we do want to make sure that we eat outside of the restaurant and visit shops and bars etc in local towns/main areas. Can anyone tell me if we are miles away from anywhere and if there are places outside of the resort.
For example, would be nice to watch some English football on Boxing day etc - does anyone know whether this will be possible? We will have been travelling for a while and would be nice to relax there etc.
Thanks Kat x

Re: Pangkor Island Beach Resort Question

You will be staying in a resort that is close to its own jetty and somewhat not too close to town or the common beach area (Pangkor Island resort do have its own beach ), where the food outlets are known off. There is a small village type just outside of your resort..i suppose about 15 mins walk but it would be wiser to just hire a van can (which would not cost that much) to go to the restaurants. There are a couple of good seafood restaurant opened at night but u need to hire a van cab. Going to town would take you around 15 minutes by van cab.
Watching football wont be a problem as am sure the Pangkor Island Resort has the cable (ASTRO) sports channel on TV. If not am sure they would have it in their PUB area or Lobby area.
Have Fun.
