Kampachi Japanese Buffet Dinner

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 8, 2013

I was here for a Japanese buffet dinner meet. This is not my 1st time to dine in Equatorial Hotel. Among the 4 restaurants in this hotel, I like all of them, the setup and the food is always in excellent quality. If you are having an meaningful dine, always prebook your table, otherwise you will get disappointred. Do not worry to pay for the parking fee as it is redeemable if you are a guest of the hotel.

Unique Quality: This hotel is a 5 stars hotel, good for golfing, business meeting and holiday.

Equatorial Penang Hotel

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 11, 2008

The 655-room hotel is located on a small hill, adjacent to the 18-holes Bukit Jambul Golf and Country Club... The hotel commands great views of the island's coastline and the Penang Bridge... The Equatorial is a business hotel being close to the Bayan Lepas Industrial Estate... It boasts of having two of the largest pillarless ballrooms on the island... There are 23 flexible meeting rooms as well as a 4,000 sq m Exhibition Hall... The hotel caters for launches, seminars, conventions and creative parties, not to mention theme wedding parties...

Unique Quality: There is a Buisness Centre with internet facilities... A swimming pool with jacuzzi, team building park, tennis/squash courts, among others...

The hotel is also reputed for its F&B outlets... The Golden Pheonix offers Sichuan cuisine and dim sum... The Kampachi is a noted Japanese outlet... The View is for French Provental cuisine... The Coffee garden is for 24-hours Asian and international cuisine... and the Blue Moon Lounge for relaxation drinks with light music...

Directions: The hotel is just 10-mins drive from the airport or 25-mins to the city centre...

5 Star Hotel near Free Industrial Zone

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on December 18, 2006

This is one of two 5 stars hotels in Penang. It is located on a top of hill and next to the Bukit Jambul Golf Course. Less than 20 minutes from the airport, it is near the Bayan Lepas multinational corporation factories and the Penang Bridge to the mainland.

Has a grotto and shaded swimming pool. Excellent Japanese restaurant with weekend buffet.

Government civil service get great hotel discount. Only thing is that it is not walking distance to other places as it is on a hill slope and so need to drive or take taxi. The hotel does provide shuttle service to a nearby shopping complex.

It was a good stay in this hotel. It has a very nice pool which extends to inside the base of the hotel with a waterfall. The gym is well established with a dance studio.

First Class Business Hotel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on December 3, 2004

One of my favourite hotels, it's located on the hill of Bukit Jambul and just 15mins from the airport and the industrial area. Next to the hotel is the greens of Bukit Jambul Country Club.

Unique Quality: I love the open air concept in the lobby, with lots of greens. And also the short hanging bridge in the lanscaped garden. The night view of the city from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking.
