The Royale Bintang: Everyone Happy!
Good and clean hotel overlooking the waterfront and for us just the right location. Looking at the price and at the rooms and service we got we (a group of 17 people - company event) were satisfied.
Located within the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage zone in George Town.

G Inn: cozy
I stayed here with my friend!
Very quiet and cozy hotel.
Nice friendly staff, small but comfortable and clean room, basic breakfast according to my friend, quiet neighborhood
The Famous Gurney Paragon Mall is only 17 min walk I guess!
No complaint, but if I ever make it to Penang again, I'd prefer to stay in a Hotel overlooking the sea or a hostel so that I can meet other travelers as it's hard to meet anyone in an hotel

Segara Ninda Hotel, Penang Road: The Heritage Trail No.2 in Penang
I once walked by this heritage spot and had a photo.
Later, when VT Theo1006 visited Penang early this year, he stayed in this hotel.
Theo and Helen were happy of the hospitality by the keeper, they are the descendants of Ku Din Ku Meh.
It is in a strategic location. Heritage researcher and lovers can chose this hotel if you are in Penang.
Residence of Ku Din Ku Meh or known as Segara Ninda is a beautiful heritage home located in the middle of the busy Upper Penang Road night spot in Georgetown, the capital of Penang, Malaysia.
Segara Ninda is a charming colonial building with traditional Malay motifs that dates back to the late 19th century. It once belonged to the late Ku Din Ku Meh or Tengku Baharudin bin Tengku Meh, the governor and King of Satun, Thailand in the early 1900.

Eastin Hotel: Buffet dinner in Queensbay, Penang
I was here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We chose to dine the semi buffet at the Eastin Hotel, Queensbay, Penang.
The hotel served semi Japanese buffet at that time. I ordered a lamb shank for my main dish, my wife ordered vegetarian fried rice. We enjoyed our celebration.

Hard Rock Hotel Penang: Hard Rock Cafe
Hard Rock Hotel is situated at the end of Batu Ferringhi Beach, north of Penang Island. It is one of the Hard Rock Hotels in Southeast Asia. It is a short walk to the white sandy beach. And you can choose to stay in a room that allow you to jump into the pool right from the balcony.
From the entrance, you can take picture with the Michael Jackson's statue sitting like Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial.
Of course, you can shop at Hard Rock Store for Penang Hard Rock merchandising.
I did not stay here because it is beyond my budget, but love to see the pool that attached with the rooms' balconies!

Ali Guest house: Best place to stay for backpackers
I wanted to stay at traders in george town so i had checked rates online and that was around 260 MR, but when i went to traders i found out it was going to cost me 400MR++. Then we asked them for smoking rooms , they didnt have any spare and they didn't have adjacent rooms available. I went to some other hotels in george town as well but finally i decided to go to batu ferrenghi and find some chalet there . Luckily we found a nice chalet in Ali guest house. Its right on the beach very near to Hilton resort. Rooms were air conditioned , bathrooms were neat and clean, fridge was available in the room. They have rooms with price range from 80 MR to 180 MR. We took two rooms for 180 each.

Island City Hotel: Indian run for Indians to stay
I'm not entirely sure why I actually stayed here but it happened to be near where I was dropped off after arriving in George Town from Hat Yai, over the border in Thailand. It's run by Indians and is frequented by Indians who aren't the quietest hotel stayers in the world from my experiences in India itself. However, my room was an OK size with only a small window onto the corridor with no external one. I had a TV, fridge, a/c, doublebed, desk, chairs, and a hotwater shower. It cost me RM60/night but I can't say I'd recommend it as there's better looking places along Love Lane that cater for backpacker tourists further along the road. Still, it did me OK.

DESA PELANGI SERVICE APARTMENT: Penang Service Apartment at Gergetown
We booked a Deluxe 3 bedroom apartment at Desa Pelangi Kondo, owned by Hai Soon Properties. The security is good as the kondo is guarded and the entrance to the block is card locked as well. There is ample free parking and a swimming pool at the kondo.
This is one of the best service apartment we have stayed in, in Malaysia. It is value for money and the service is like a hotel. There were clean smelling thick towels, coffee and tea and good quality utensils. The beddings were good. The place is clean and toilets are working fine. There is astro TV for us to watch the world cup matches and wi fi for internet.
The location is in Jalan Logan, very near the Sisters Char Kway Teow and Ngee Hiang Tau Sar Piah. (Macalister Road) Going over to Gurney or Komtar can be accessed by cab if you're not driving.
I would recommend anyone to rent this apartment.
From our apartment, we have a great view of Penang Hill and the city. We were on the 7th floor.

Tune Hotel: stay in Tune Hotel, Penang
I stayed at Tune Hotel in Penang. It was ok to stay there for short Holiday. Good location too. I can walk from Komtar to that hotel. Just download from google map to reach the hotel. From hotel, I also can walk to georgetown.
I booked by online. I added some service like towel, toiletries, and air conditioner. It was first experience for me to stay in this kind of hotel. it was lil bit confusing. But then everything was ok.
The room is abit small. But it has good bed and clean room. It is juz exactly the same with the picture on the website.
the air conditioner is add on service.
If i purchase certain hour (it has in package), then it finished, I can make top up purchasing.
But if i dont want to use the airconditioner, it means i dont purchase it. The room still hv big fan.

1926 heritage hotel: All about heritage
This hotel was a former officers base in colonial times, it has been lovingly restored and a swimming pool added. The hotel was fine a good base for sight seeing in and around Georgetown, the pool was most welcome as a heatwave had struck georgetown and we were certainly not used to the humidity that we faced, most days after a morning sightseeing we gladly return and spend hours in the pool. The hotel on the whole was ok a bit shabby but it was not expensive and the people were all nice and very helpfull.
Of course the restored building is unique, and gave a real feel of the days when it was built. The pool was fantastic.
