We were in the Flamingo restaurant for a buffet dinner meet. They are doing a week day promotion, so we got the price of RM 40++ per head from RM 58++. We had seafood BBQ dinner, it was an enjoyable meet and meai.
love the place, 7-11 at the ground floor and starbucks just next door. just a few minutes walk to komtar bus terminal.
Hard Rock Hotel is situated at the end of Batu Ferringhi Beach, north of Penang Island. It is one of the Hard Rock Hotels in Southeast Asia. It is a short walk to the white sandy beach. And you can choose to stay in a room that allow you to jump into the pool right from the balcony.
From the entrance, you can take picture with the Michael Jackson's statue sitting like Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial.
Of course, you can shop at Hard Rock Store for Penang Hard Rock merchandising.
I did not stay here because it is beyond my budget, but love to see the pool that attached with the rooms' balconies!
I have never stay at this place before, location wise is quite ok. Just beard in mind, you are travelling in an SUPER PEAK season, basically the chinese, Indians, local Penangite & Malaysian will flock into the island.

The alternate you may also consider TUNE HOTEL, Penang (tunehotels.com), same road.. about few hundreds meter away (closer to Georgetown city centre), for 5 nights it will be about RM 300 - RM 400 per room on twin sharing. This place is recommended.
This is a new Hotel in Town, with the present promotion rate of RM75.00 (incl. breakfast) is the best offer. Since this is a new hotel, everything is new, in order to reinforce a name of its own the staff is trying its best to serve all its customers to satisfaction. The inn has only 30 over rooms and is just opposite the Penang Ferry terminal.VICTORIAINN

Hard Rock Hotel Penang is a luxury resort situated along the famous beaches of Batu Ferringhi. Hard Rock Hotel Penang is iconic, bringing the multicultural Penang to new heights with its authentic Hard Rock experience.
The walls in the Hard Rock Hotel Penang are adorned with images, memorabilia and icons reflecting the revolution that changed the face of music, fashion and arts. It's a celebration of popular culture from the 50's through the new millennium.
I wanted to stay at traders in george town so i had checked rates online and that was around 260 MR, but when i went to traders i found out it was going to cost me 400MR++. Then we asked them for smoking rooms , they didnt have any spare and they didn't have adjacent rooms available. I went to some other hotels in george town as well but finally i decided to go to batu ferrenghi and find some chalet there . Luckily we found a nice chalet in Ali guest house. Its right on the beach very near to Hilton resort. Rooms were air conditioned , bathrooms were neat and clean, fridge was available in the room. They have rooms with price range from 80 MR to 180 MR. We took two rooms for 180 each.
I'm not entirely sure why I actually stayed here but it happened to be near where I was dropped off after arriving in George Town from Hat Yai, over the border in Thailand. It's run by Indians and is frequented by Indians who aren't the quietest hotel stayers in the world from my experiences in India itself. However, my room was an OK size with only a small window onto the corridor with no external one. I had a TV, fridge, a/c, doublebed, desk, chairs, and a hotwater shower. It cost me RM60/night but I can't say I'd recommend it as there's better looking places along Love Lane that cater for backpacker tourists further along the road. Still, it did me OK.
We booked a Deluxe 3 bedroom apartment at Desa Pelangi Kondo, owned by Hai Soon Properties. The security is good as the kondo is guarded and the entrance to the block is card locked as well. There is ample free parking and a swimming pool at the kondo.
This is one of the best service apartment we have stayed in, in Malaysia. It is value for money and the service is like a hotel. There were clean smelling thick towels, coffee and tea and good quality utensils. The beddings were good. The place is clean and toilets are working fine. There is astro TV for us to watch the world cup matches and wi fi for internet.
The location is in Jalan Logan, very near the Sisters Char Kway Teow and Ngee Hiang Tau Sar Piah. (Macalister Road) Going over to Gurney or Komtar can be accessed by cab if you're not driving.
I would recommend anyone to rent this apartment.
From our apartment, we have a great view of Penang Hill and the city. We were on the 7th floor.
I stayed at Tune Hotel in Penang. It was ok to stay there for short Holiday. Good location too. I can walk from Komtar to that hotel. Just download from google map to reach the hotel. From hotel, I also can walk to georgetown.
I booked by online. I added some service like towel, toiletries, and air conditioner. It was first experience for me to stay in this kind of hotel. it was lil bit confusing. But then everything was ok.
The room is abit small. But it has good bed and clean room. It is juz exactly the same with the picture on the website.
the air conditioner is add on service.
If i purchase certain hour (it has in package), then it finished, I can make top up purchasing.
But if i dont want to use the airconditioner, it means i dont purchase it. The room still hv big fan.
This hotel was a former officers base in colonial times, it has been lovingly restored and a swimming pool added. The hotel was fine a good base for sight seeing in and around Georgetown, the pool was most welcome as a heatwave had struck georgetown and we were certainly not used to the humidity that we faced, most days after a morning sightseeing we gladly return and spend hours in the pool. The hotel on the whole was ok a bit shabby but it was not expensive and the people were all nice and very helpfull.
Of course the restored building is unique, and gave a real feel of the days when it was built. The pool was fantastic.
Loved the modernity of this hotel, but wished that they would make it policy that there would be no smoking in the lobby. The air in the lobby was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke... a real turn off.
Loved the view from the hotel room though. We stayed on the 10th floor of the hotel, facing the sea. Could watch the sunrise from our room.
Loved that they replenished our drinking water and beverages daily.
Great: Infinity pool, jacuzzi, gym, next to big shopping mall, very near eating place - Gurney Drive
If you look for a good bed, quality toilet, clean environment, good location, fans on the ceiling, and safe security with only a half of other's budget. Please come to Tune Hotels, or like what local refer as it to AriAsia hotel. The concept is like what AirAsia group is doing to AirAisa, you can have the above things that I mention, BUT you will need to pay for air-conditioning, towel and shower essential,hair-dryer, and wireless Internet access. However, it is still considered CHEAP after all of payments.
The only thing that I do not like is there is no window for you to see the street and enjoy natural sunshine.
Check-in is 14:00PM.
Check-out is 10:00AM.
It is payable for you to leave your luggage in their storage.
A great bed to sleep, a clean toilet, a fan, and a free toilet paper. The rest, please pay or purchase from the 7-11.
The G Hotel is Gurney Drive's latest boutique hotel. I stayed at the G Hotel from 1 - 3 August 2008 where I attended a medical symposium. Located on Penang's famous esplanade Gurney Drive, the G Hotel is near the famous Gurney hawker food center and just beside upmarket Gurney Plaza. Its design is stylishly contemporary with a large lobby featuring minimalist furnishing.
I had a deluxe ocean view room with a huge king sized bed and a bathtub facing the sea. Looking out of the window, I could see almost the entire stretch of Gurney Drive. There is a nice spa and swimming pool to relax on the 3rd level. It is a perfect hotel for a family holiday or a romantic escapade.
