Quiet area for you to relax for you and your family.
Buffet Breakfast is nice.
Buffet Dinner during weekends is even nicer.
If you ask for privacy this is the nearest resort that is within distance from Kuala Lumpur
Wonderful. Back to nature but more expensive than some other available accommodation. I paid RM 414 for the garden chalet facing the children's pool. Breakfast for 2 adults. Generally staff were friendly.
Unique Quality: When I was there, the water level was low in the afternoon but the next morning the water level was high and the water chalets sit nicely in the water. My son managed to kayak and I tried the water bee... Fun.
About 45min to 1 hr drive from there, Xtreme Park , another attraction , go -kart 8 laps - RM25 and ATV riding RM 50- jungle terrain.
Unique Quality: I stayed at one of the water chalets in (#812) July 2008. I paid the extra cost to get one of the chalets that faced the bay. The chalets are usually surrounded by water except during low tide. At high tide the rooms are standing in approximately 1 meter of water.
The room with the queen-size bed was nice and the bathroom with the outdoor shower was interesting. The only complaint I had was about the air conditioner that is located in the outdoor bathroom facility. It was quite loud and eliminates any possibility of listening to the ocean at night. I ended up shutting it off, using only the ceiling fan and opening the balcony doors at night. Fortunately the queen bed had mosquito netting.
I had two meals at the ground floor restaurant - dinner when I arrived and breakfast the next morning. Both meals were fine and the buffet at breakfast was decent (the hotel has two restaurants).
I also enjoyed using the adults-only swimming pool for swimming some laps. The stay was enjoyable enough that I would return again.
Attended a 2 nights 3 days conference at Avillion on the 7th, 8th May 2008.
I am appalled and shocked by the " couldn't careless" attitude of the manager on duty and staff as well as the poor maintenance of their chalet.
Our first room , a water chalet room 800 , sprang a leak from the roof directly over the master bed in the middle of the night during a rain storm . I had never encounter
such an event in any of the hotels that I had stayed in , not even in a 3 star hotel. The water drip directly onto the bed making sleep impossible.
The alternate room 912 ,they gave us suffered air-condition failure during the middle of the day when it is hottest again making sleep impossible. My kids and wife
were sweating away while they try to fixed up the air-conditioner . The attitude of the manager and staff were " I am just doing my job , it's your bad luck to get rooms that are faulty . Half hearted insincere apologies with no attempt to make any remedy is shocking as Avillion aspire to be a premier hotel . Their attitude is definitely a 1 star rating . Needless to say I will never come back again . The organizer of this conference agrees with me . Request for water and other things were met with very slow response ( in the end the organizer had to buy the water themselves from outside !) Shame on you Avillion ! I checked out on the 2nd day of a 3 day stay and no doubt will not come again .
Unique Quality: Good begining spoil by poor maintenance and management.
Well, i actually went on the wrong days...hahaha...because it was very busy when i reached the lobby or should i said wrong timing too as it was the checking out time =P Anyhow, if you are looking for a quiet getaway, this place is great. Resort tends to get very busy during school and public holidays. So if you intend to go on these days...you better get up early for breakfast or you can expect to queue as i personally feel that the restaurant is a bit too small.
I've been to other nice resorts too and i'm actually quiet spoilt by the resort's personal touches but avillion is among many commercialised resort so they ain't much of the personal touches. On the whole, the place is sweet.
For those who took up premium water chalet, do request for the Tumasek Village as the views are not obstructed by any other neighbouring village and you are just next to the beach. If the sky is clear, i bet you can expect a gorgeous sunset too!
If you bring your kids for a holiday, they do have some perks for kids like the petting farm and spacious kids corner with activities. I'm sure your kids will enjoy themselves.
The village pool was packed with kids then but they have another pool, the cochin which are meant for adults only, so you can enjoy that quiet swim minus the kids screaming and yelling...hahahaha
Unique Quality: The medium end...Built on stilts...
This is the best in Port Dickson. I put it way above the rest but not in price.
Price-wise, it's very comparable; decor, food, service, ambience, position etc, it's above the rest.
Access to clean, wide private beach. All the facilities you would expect in a top class hotel/resort.
Others have said more. Enough said.
Unique Quality: Number 1 in PD
Directions: Forget the above entry - it's about 3.5 km south bound from PD town. Beach side.
Romance is about four poster beds, open-air showers that looks out to the sun and stars, sun deck and day beds to dream on.
This is where Avillion water chalet comes in. It may costs more but well worth the money compared to their garden chalets which are ordinary.
5 stars. The vacation houses made of natural materials are located on sea. Each room has open air bathroom and romantic beds.
Besides it, the hotel offers various facilities such as swimming pools, sauna & steam rooms, karaoke room and beautiful gardens. At night one hears wave dancing and yellow lights are full of the breath...It's romantic hotel for lovers.
Unfortunately, because of sound from waves I didn't sleep well that night.....
to be update
Unique Quality: Advice you book a full sea view chalet which allow you to view the sea without blocking by others unit. What a wonderful feel to stay a chalet on the sea. You able to enjoy the sea waving, crab catching, 2 different swimming pools for your choice.
Directions: log in to this website for details direction of the hotel location http://www.avillion.com.my/location_map.asp
The place seems "matured", the wooded structure having seen a fair share of sun and rain. However, everything is clean, neat and well kept.
The age adds a little rustic taste to the place, making the place feels warm. Don't be mistaken that the place is old, its just not brand new :)
Unique Quality: The water chalet is great. Its built on stilts above the coastal water, stretching out from the beach like fingers. Under your room, its water during high tide, and sand at low tide. You can just sit on the balcony the whole afternoon looking at the beaches, sea, the rooms around.
The rooms are normal size, with a king bed and a queen size day bed by the window. But the bathroom is huge, and airy !!
The avillion have garden chalet or water chalets. The one I stayed in was the water chalet which there's a balcony with overlook the sea and u can fish or simply lower a net which u can rent from the hotel and catch crabs easily! Try in the evening after 5pm when the tide is high, can easily catch 2 or more crabs in 10 mins. The restuarant would be glad to cook the crabs for u.
The water chalet have a open shower in the bathroom the size of a normal hotel room.
Unique Quality: One lap pool for serious swimmers and a pool for u to laze and kids to play.
There's no much night life in Port Dickson so if you're not staying too long, u should't feel too bored. Overall u should have a good book and laze around.
Again very good with a few minor hiccups.
It is very obvious the resort takes pride in its surrounds and you do see many maintenance people around repairing the wooden boardwalk that leads to the water chalets.
This time I stayed at the water chalet. The bathroom is wonderful! An open air shower as pictured. Really romantic honeymoon material!
We were given a seaview chalet which I must say is pretty nice. In the morning, birds woke us by chirping loudly. Wonderful! However, with them comes the obvious problem with birds. The boardwalk sees many of the impact marks of bird poo. Some fresh and some dried. I hope the resort cleans this up often. I did step on some while walking around barefoot.
The chalet comes equipped with a ceiling fan and I even wanted natural sea air with no air conditioning opening all the windows and the balcony doors. It was great until I spotted a lone mosquito landing on my arm. OK, turn the A/C on and close every entrance to the room.
Unique Quality: Premium water chalets offer great seaviews.
After the luxury of the Pan Pacific at KLIA, we had an idea of finding something cheaper. After a taxi tour around Port Dickson to see the possibilities, we ended up in this even more expensive hotel :-) 380 Ringgit a night, and the restaurant was not as good as the one at Pan Pacific. But more than good enough! We spent three nights in one of the cabins on the quay, and had a wonderful time! The main reason why we had such a nice time is the woman who was responsible for public relations, we became friends with her and her son, who was the same age as mine. They took us around in her time off and showed us the local market and local restaurants.
Unique Quality: The location, the architecture and the surroundings.
Directions: Realtively central in Port Dickson
This resort has everything one needs for beach front enjoyment from barbeque dinners to jet ski rentals and fabulous swimming pools and tennis courts. They even have a miniature children's zoo.
Unique Quality: If you can, try tostay in one of their chalets built out into the sea, this allows you to sleep to the lull of the waves lapping beneath you.
I love the water chalet at Avillion... I stayed at the Premium Water Chalet for my 2nd trip there...
The only different between the Standard and the Premium Water Chalet is that you get the full view of the sea from your balcony (not blocked by other chalets)..
