Wonderful. Back to nature but more expensive than some other available accommodation. I paid RM 414 for the garden chalet facing the children's pool. Breakfast for 2 adults. Generally staff were friendly.
When I was there, the water level was low in the afternoon but the next morning the water level was high and the water chalets sit nicely in the water. My son managed to kayak and I tried the water bee... Fun. About 45min to 1 hr drive from there, Xtreme Park , another attraction , go -kart 8 laps - RM25 and ATV riding RM 50- jungle terrain. Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than average

I stayed at one of the water chalets in (#812) July 2008. I paid the extra cost to get one of the chalets that faced the bay. The chalets are usually surrounded by water except during low tide. At high tide the rooms are standing in approximately 1 meter of water. The room with the queen-size bed was nice and the bathroom with the outdoor shower was interesting. The only complaint I had was about the air conditioner that is located in the outdoor bathroom facility. It was quite loud and eliminates any possibility of listening to the ocean at night. I ended up shutting it off, using only the ceiling fan and opening the balcony doors at night. Fortunately the queen bed had mosquito netting. I had two meals at the ground floor restaurant - dinner when I arrived and breakfast the next morning. Both meals were fine and the buffet at breakfast was decent (the hotel has two restaurants). I also enjoyed using the adults-only swimming pool for swimming some laps. The stay was enjoyable enough that I would return again.

Attended a 2 nights 3 days conference at Avillion on the 7th, 8th May 2008. I am appalled and shocked by the " couldn't careless" attitude of the manager on duty and staff as well as the poor maintenance of their chalet. Our first room , a water chalet room 800 , sprang a leak from the roof directly over the master bed in the middle of the night during a rain storm . I had never encounter such an event in any of the hotels that I had stayed in , not even in a 3 star hotel. The water drip directly onto the bed making sleep impossible. The alternate room 912 ,they gave us suffered air-condition failure during the middle of the day when it is hottest again making sleep impossible. My kids and wife were sweating away while they try to fixed up the air-conditioner . The attitude of the manager and staff were " I am just doing my job , it's your bad luck to get rooms that are faulty . Half hearted insincere apologies with no attempt to make any remedy is shocking as Avillion aspire to be a premier hotel . Their attitude is definitely a 1 star rating . Needless to say I will never come back again . The organizer of this conference agrees with me . Request for water and other things were met with very slow response ( in the end the organizer had to buy the water themselves from outside !) Shame on you Avillion ! I checked out on the 2nd day of a 3 day stay and no doubt will not come again .
Good begining spoil by poor maintenance and management.

 | Avillion: Water Chalet - above the sea

The place seems "matured", the wooded structure having seen a fair share of sun and rain. However, everything is clean, neat and well kept. The age adds a little rustic taste to the place, making the place feels warm. Don't be mistaken that the place is old, its just not brand new :)
The water chalet is great. Its built on stilts above the coastal water, stretching out from the beach like fingers. Under your room, its water during high tide, and sand at low tide. You can just sit on the balcony the whole afternoon looking at the beaches, sea, the rooms around. The rooms are normal size, with a king bed and a queen size day bed by the window. But the bathroom is huge, and airy !!
