LCCT to PD

by Glennw19

What would be the cost of a taxi from LCCT to PD?

Re: LCCT to PD

by ronniepj

shouldn't be more than rm90-100 for a regular taxi.

pd town and beaches are different locations. if coming for 1st time, try to get cab to take you up to "cape rachado lighthouse"... that will take u along the coastal road and allow you to see/pick the best beaches.

distances
lcct>pd town 50+km
lcct>lighthouse 60km

some taxi links i found with price quotes (dunno if they are any good)...

Travel Tips for Port Dickson

dun miss to stay in the resort...

by vividvivian

dun miss to stay in the resort which is next to the sea, it's really quiet and relax with the sea breeze.
try some special and traditional dishes, i cannot tellthe name of the dish but it's a kidna bean that is pretty good to health but it does not taste good, it stings. ahahah but i tried that though, nice experience! Genting Highlands! cool!!!
no air conditioning in Genting Highlands because it's pretty cool/ windy, but you won't feel cold nor uncomfortable because the breeze is just so refreshing.
when you wake up in the morning, dun forget to look out from the window, you will see how the clouds cover the hills :))

Visit the ruins of Kota Lukut

by genie47

Kota in Malay means fort. Kota Lukut are the remains of a fort that is found in the town of Lukut north of Port Dickson.

There is a museum there. It showcases the archeological finds of the area as well as the intriguing history behind the fort. Apparently it is very a very well administered place and the British have full of praise for it.

Also in the museum are archeological finds from a sunken ship that is found off Tg Tuan (Cape Rachardo). The VOC ship Nassau was found while archeologists were looking for a sunken British tradeship in the area. It took part in the siege of Melaka and it was quite a find. It was sunk in the Battle of Cape Rachado in 1606.

You need to take off your shoes prior to entering the museum. Nice thing is that it is free of charge!

After visiting the museum you can make your way up to the fort ruins. Only the walls and the wells remain. You have to cross the now dried up moat to get to the centre of the "complex". You can drive up there if you want to but it will spoil the fun of walking up from the museum.

Pet Farm

by sweetie_inc

This resort has a pet farm and the guests are allowed to come and feed the pets during their feeding times.

There are rabbits, pegions, chickens and turkey for you to feed them personally. Do visit them and you'll get to hold and carry them too!

There are other kinds of birds that are kept in cages and we are not allowed to feed them.

Entrance is FREE!

P.D. Ostrich Showfarm

by mansionion

Apart from the beach, P.D. also has other attractions to cater to the whole family such as this Ostrich Park Showfarm. Apart from ostriches there are also few other animal species on display here such as birds, rabbits and crocodiles (yes, crocodiles!).

It is more like a mini petting zoo here then an ostrich showfarm. Nevertheless, the ostriches are the star attractions here with activities centred around them - ostrich race, ostrich ride, ostrich related souveniers and last but not least - food items made from ostrich.... There's price to pay for being a star I guess.

Closet Thing to Paradise

by nizamdali

"Getting There"

Port Dickson is the closest thing to Paradise if you live and work in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Accessible by road on the North-South Highway, it's just 60 km from the capital. Originally a town where charcoal was made and was once called Arang, it was later sought to be developed as a port.

"The Sights"

You'll find a long stretch of white sandy beaches in Port Dickson. Lined with coconut, palm and Bayan trees, it's the perfect spot for picnics and water sports. There aren't much corals here but it is growing especially after the devastating tsunami that hit Sumatra in 2004. On the beach, you find millions of tiny crabs during low tide walking by in unison. The sight is just beautiful.

"The Night Comes Alive"

Port Dickson is designed for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. However the nights do come alive with rows and rows of great seafood stalls along the beach. Just watch out for a brightly colored lights wrapped around trees or poles, and you know you've found a stall serving fresh seafood.
