Travel Tips for Port Dickson

A great beach to visit: Blue Lagoon or Pantai Biru

by genie47

Blue Lagoon and Tg Tuan are just next to each other. A very nice beach to visit. When the tide is out at 1 to 2pm, the waters go very far out exposing a lot of tiny red crabs. They come out and as you approach, billions and billions can be seen in a mass exodus to flee from the vibrations of your footsteps.

There are some isolated pools of water and when baked by the sun becomes hot like water from a hot spring. Very soothing to naked feet.

Ocean canoeing and other seasports can only take place in the late afternoon when the tide returns.

You can visit the Cape Rachado (Tg Tuan) Lighthouse as well and it offers a great view out into the Straits of Melaka. There is a nature reserve or recreational forest here. The Tg Tuan Recreational Forest. It is a stopover point for many raptors and hence the nearby Eagle Ranch. The sea off Tg Tuan is a marine sanctuary with many sunken wrecks of which the VOC ship Nassau was found.

There is a resort and some chalets there. I have not stayed in them before. Not too shoddy looking. To get there, just travel south along Jln Pantai. Blue Lagoon is at the 19th Mile of Jln Pantai.

PD Ostrich Showfarm

by chiabh

The farm has over 90 ostriches of all ages... Besides these, there are also the private collections of peacocks, pheasant, exotic ornamental chickens and estuarine crocodiles... Visitors can learn about the specilist equipment and techniques used in the ostrich industry... Besides this, there are activities for the whole family ~ including ostrich rides, ostrich egg stepping, animal petting and traditional kampong games like coconut bowling and aborigines blowpipe...

The farm is opened daily (including Sundays and Public Holidays) from 9.00am to 5.30pm... Entrance fee is RM8.00 (adults) and RM4.00 (child)...

Masjid Teluk Kemang

by mansionion

The Masjid Teluk Kemang is located on top of a hill in Teluk Kemang and looks stunning from a far. It is the bigest and most beautifull mosque in PD it seems.

Architectural wise, its looks different from other mosques commonly found here in the country. Nevertheless, it still has the minaret and dome on its roof, both beautifully decorated with colored tiles.

A GLIMPSE OF PORT DICKSON

"A Side Trip to Port Dickson"

Another unknown place to me. I was surprised when we had a stop over here on our way to Melaka. I was really glad to have seen another place, unexpectedly. And this was a bonus trip because Port Dickson, as I know now, is a popular destination among the weekenders because of its long coastline and wide choice of resort accomodations.

My picture here was taken at a golf course.

The Place Along The Straits of Malacca

"Driving up North... An exciting experience!"

It was my first time driving up North to Malaysia from Singapore with my friends. It was very exciting and a memorable experience for all of us. We have planned it well and decided to drive up to Port Dickson and Kuala Lumpur during the Chinese New Year Holidays. It was great to be away from home once in a while.

"Port Dickson - A Place To Relax"

Port Dickson is situated in Negeri Sembilan and it's well-known for the its beaches. The place is a favourite for the city dwellers of KL and Singapore due to its miles of golden beaches and a wide range of accomodation. It was a great place for a relaxing weekend.
