Rhana Pippin Resort: Chalet by the sea
Most amazing chalets they offer, just facing the sea and with Air-Cond, Shower(hot & cold), TV, Queen size bed and a little fridge.
All the above for the price of RM90.00!
Not only that, it was amazingly quiet and the surrounding area is fenced up so no outsiders come by.
Landscaping is also beautiful but most important was the view!

Tanjong Inn: Carefree Cherating
Most enjoyable short break. Affordable chalets with air cond and hot shower. They also have the cheaper huts with fan for the long term back packers. Short walking distance to the beach. Natural environment. Bring your own mosquito repellant.

Quiet place with plenty of privacy. The most impressive is that the chalets we stayed are surrounded by a fishing pond.

I don't remember! But I'll find out and add it...: Great A-Frames
This is the first hostel you come across when you walk from the bus stop into Cherating. They have a main house with internet access, a common room with hammocks and a television with movies to watch. They also have a kitchen for you to use for meals.
The best part of this hostel is that the rooms are actually a-frame huts. They are set on sand with a tiny little pond nearby. They aren't as nice looking as Matahari's next door, but the guys running the place are so nice and helpful that it's worth staying here. Plus it feels a little more authentic than the buildings at Matahari's.
