De'Teratai Beach Resort: Prestine Turtle Beach of Rantau Abang
This is not a star rated kind of hotel. Operated by a local Malay family, the rooms are quite basic. They are chalets with air-con and bathroom attached. There are a few of these resorts in the area but this resort is nearest to the beach.
Note that this resort does not serve food. There is also no water kettle. The nearest town to get some decent food is Dungun.
Unique Quality: Near beach. Beach is clean and sea water is clear.

Dahimah's Guest House: The Room at Dahimah's
This is one the room which I stayed alone. To me it's cozy and the fan was good enuf. Attached bathroom. I'm sorry if my photo makes it look eerie, just have to be honest with you. I swear I felt really alone. Going with someone or in a group will help you not to think about anything else. Even though it's kinda isolated, all night long you can hear life around, like vehicles (very very light traffic) on the main road, or cars arriving and people, family, children moving into their lodge...
Unique Quality: Cared by a family. The restaurant didn't seem to be open all year round. But when I was there in August, they cooked me a good meal of fried noodles.

Marang Resort & Safaris: Turtles Beach Luxurious Best
Didn't stay here, but it's a nice place to just drop by for a visit. Nice big place with chalets, nice river view and a beautiful beach. Romantic. Watch out for some sort of poops though on the beach. Stay here if you can afford it, not too expensive; if not you can just come here for a day tour. The staff here are quite welcoming as they don't mind seeing 'strangers' in their premises.
Unique Quality: Great setting. Respectful to Nature. Quite romantic. Go to the beach, and see if you'll prefer the chalets on the beach or the chalets by the river.

Dahimah's Guest House: Turtle Beach Budget Best
Firstly, a warning about swimming in the sea: Becareful when it's high tide. Check with the keepers if it's safe to go into the water.
Budget stay, with all the basics (attached toilet with shower, fan/aircond, double bed etc, towels, mini bar of soap, roll of toilet paper). Friendly Muslim keepers. They kept the place pretty clean, this you have to trust me because one set back, insects and a couple of roaches. Because the houses are near/on the marshes. It's quite hygenic still provided you don't leave any food or drink exposed and surely 'they' would come.
The last time I went, there wasn't any other lodging near Dahimah's. About 10 to 15 minutes up north from Dahimah, there's anythere lodging, and further more you would reach the town of Marang, where it's more developed, and more lodging.
Down south from Dahimah about 10-20 minutes drive would be Marang Resort & Safaris.

Unique Quality: The probability of you having the beach all to yourself is quite high. Once I came here with two of my girl friends, reached at 9 at night, and had a simple girls night out barbeque on the beach with only chicken sausages on the menu, but of course I left the sausages in a fridge 8 hours away. Well, cooked instant noodles instead with the beautiful BBQ fire, and had the whole beach to ourselves, with only lights from the fire and merely some from the guest house behind us across a small river. Feel like doing that again but bring the sausages.

Joo's tent: Joo's tent
Joo's tent is the best of all accomodation. My tent is available anytime free of charge except that I have to search for toilet and bathroom, that's why I need to setup the tent near to any chalets or hotels. Tent is good but I suggest you do this at least 2 persons, if not all your belongings will be gone when you go for shower or away. Bring all neccessary outdoor camping items such as the candle, lighter, mosquito coils, etc.
