weather and other facts
Hi Everybody!
This is my first time planning to travel to Malaysia-Redang. I am slightly confused about the weather conditions in August. Is there a lot of rain or weather conditions are similar to the rest of the year.
My other suprise is that hotels accomodations seem much higher rated than in other part of the world or is this just rates via internet that needs further investigations.
Pls if someone can answer I would be greatfull to get some comforting answer.

Hi, oh boy Redang - ENJOY!
However I can't answer when it comes to the weather but when it comes to the resort
We stayed at Coral Redang and that wasn't expensice at all! Check their hp or call them. We just took the speedboat out and asked them if they had a room..
(they are closed due to the rainy season from November to March. (according to their homepage) )
So my suggestion is... have a great time in August ;o)

Redang acoomodation was VERY cheap when I was there. Unless you're staying in Bejaya Resort, that's another story.

Weather-wise most of Malaysia have hot and humid throughout the year. Months from November to January see more rainfall. However the good news is generally speaking, the rainfalls usually take place between 1500 and 1630 hours in the afternoon; moreover, it rains hard for 30-45 mins at a stretch so if you get stranded, wait for 30-45 mins and then you don't have to get wet. For the rest of the day, you can have glorious sun-shine. Very seldom would one experience rainfall at night.

hi there.. the weather conditions in redang will be great in august.. the rainy season only starts in nov and it runs till end feb.. hmmm.. actually, the resort prices in redang is really cheap.. other than berjaya.. that's another story altogehter.. anyway, u might wanna check out this place.. www.redangkalong.com.. i was there last year and was really happy with the place.. have fun!
