transport from Concorde Hotel to Section 17 (University)

by ewawo

Could anyone advise me about the transport options from going to Concorde Hotel to Section 17 (University)? How much would a taxi ride cost? What about minibus? Is it hard to get a taxi from the University? Many thanks in advance.

Try catch the LRT.
Ask Concorde People to show you where the Putra LRT stop of "Dang Wangi" is.
From Dang Wangi you can catch the LRT to University Stop.

There are 3 concorde hotel. One in Kuala Lumpur, one in KLIA and the other one in Shah Alam.

If you are staying at the one in Kuala Lumpur, you can use previous post, take LRT and stop at KL Sentral, from there, take a komuter (commuter) to "Padang Jawa". from there, you have to take the taxi.

If you are staying at Concorde Hotel in Shah Alam, just take a taxi. It doesn't cost alot.

If you are staying at Concorde KLIA, you can either use taxi to Shah Alam or take the ERL train (KL Express) to KL Sentral. From there, take a commuter to "Padang Jawa" and then take a taxi to the University.

hooiluangoh says that you can take LRT and stop at "University" Station. which is wrong because the University station in LRT is actually refer to University of Malaya in Pantai Dalam/Petaling Jaya border.

Section 17 of Shah Alam is not accessible by LRT. You have to take commuter to get there.

The 18-holes par-71 golf course plays to 5,738m from the blue tees... The First Nine plays to 2,845m while the Second Nine to 2,893m... Designed by renowned Aussie architect Ted Parslow, the course has a very compact layout featuring narrow fairways and numerous doglegs... There is an assortment of harzards from tee to green, from strategically-placed fairway bunkers and green-side san traps to lakes, ponds and a fair dose of OBs...

The course provides night golfing on weekdays... The golf club draws its inspiration from The Pyramid of Kukulcan, a Mayan monument in Mexico dating back some 1,500 years... The logo and clubhouse follow the tiered design of the ancient pyramid... The club has the normal men and ladies changing rooms, a 50-bay, 2-tier driving range and an excellent putting green...

For F&B, there is the Mayan Coffee House which serves local, Oriental and Western cuisine along with great view of the golf course... The Petro's Fun Pub serves a wide selection of cocktails and mocktails... There is also the Sunterez Golfers' Terrace for a good range of local and Western cuisine and the Pool Side Terrace fo Barbequed seafood and meet...

Kite-flying!

by boocik04

When in Shah Alam, do visit Bukit Jelutong or Section U8. Here, you can see the big landmark that looks like a boat sail which is actually the Guthrie office. Across the road is a field where people come to fly kites! Sometimes you can also see people flying remote-control ariplanes..... The wind here is incredibly strong with plenty of open space to run around....

Shah Alam Gallery

Situated at the Shah Alam Lake Gardens, the Shah Alam Gallery exhibits a wide collection of art, local handicraft and fabrics for viewing and for sale.

Sometimes, the UiTM students from the Arts & Design Faculty will display some of their works here and visitors could buy some of the arts at a bargain of the normal price.

"The Blue Mosque"

Fondly known as the 'Blue Mosque', the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque is one of the largest mosques in Southeast Asia, with the capacity to accommodate 24,000 worshippers at any one time.
Dominating the entire state capital, this is truly one of the finest mosques to be found anywhere in the world. Completed in 1988, its minarets, at 142.3 meters, are the tallest in the world. Its graceful blue dome is also one of the biggest of its kind. Decorative Islamic calligraphy enhances the dome and main prayer hall, while the overall architecture integrates Malay and Moorish design elements. The mosque's pulpit has been executed in carved timber, a masterpiece of local craftsmen from the state of Kelantan.
