An ok place

This place I found on the net. It was advertised as built 2007, and last renovated 2007. Well the 2nd part is correct, the renovations are still going on, but the built part ????? I would guess 1960's bu the decor and state of the place. - This annoyed me a bit to start with. The breakfast is nothing special, but I had the Fried noodles (mee) each day it was good. Avoid the american breakfast though, not worth it.

The room I was in certainly could do with a refurbish, especially the bathroom.

The staff had very limited english, so communication was not that easy, and they also seemed reliably uninformed re local things. ie I was told it took 1 hour to the airport - in reality 10 mins.

The pool was welcome though, and the beer (when they had it) was cheap.

One thing that amazed me was that there was NO FRIDGE in the room, and this is SE Asia - come on?

A big minus though was the location, not in the city. You needed to take taxi's to and from or the local bus service which was cheap and frequent.

Oh - DONT use their shuttle service. They charge, and its more that the set taxi fare from the airport to hotels

Small and cozy

We stayed at this place for 5 nights. Upon reaching the hotel, we've seen almost every single one of their staff (except the restaurant staff). Manager, housekeeping, receptionist, etc. so not one was an unfamiliar face after that.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. When we needed oil, they lend it to us out of their personal belongings. Things get settled very quickly in a small hotel. We needed toilet paper and they just handed it to us immediately. When we got back from diving they would ask us how was it. Very homely feeling.

The rooms are spacious and relatively clean. My room had ants problem but it didn't really bother us, my parents room were alright. However, the toilet is very very small. There's not even enough space to open the door fully before it hits the toilet bowl.

The hotel doesn't have a lift, so not very user-friendly for those who have leg problems. But there are rooms at the groud floor.

The first 2 days we had ala-carte breakfast which is very good. We ate Nasi Lamak. The 3-5th day was buffet style, which we didn't really enjoy as the food looked very oily.

Location wise is good and bad. Good is that its away from the city, very peaceful. However, not very convenient without a car as the minivan that plys this route to KK city stops around 8-9pm.

Unique Quality: Has 2 swimming pools (adult & children)
