AA (Air Cond) Inn: the cheapest place to stay in Bintulu
It was the cheapest... most probably. We didn't check out one of these Rumah Tumpagan around the town and close to piers. AA Inn was a bit strange place. We arrived at 6.30 am and asked for double room first. They said the price was 25 RM. So, we checked in and wanted to take rest after long bus ride from Kuching. 10 minutes later, a guy knoced on the door. I went to ask what's the matter. He enlightened us by an information that we will need to pay for that room until 12 am and if we stay one night, we pay for that too. Well, I am not sure if that's regular practice around the world, but by then we never needed to pay for 2 days at any hotel or GH when we arrived at that early hour.
However, we were too tired that day and we decided to stay anyway. Later we would go to look for better place to stay. Among our visitors that day, there was a fat rat who made herself feast with our food, mostly cakes. I was not very happy for paying 50 RM for a dirty room, rat included. Of course, there was TV and no programme worked and there was toilet, but was so filthy that was close to impossible to take shower there without getting even dirtier:)
However, it wasn't the only place in Malaysia where we had a rat (or 2?) in room. There was another one in Kota Kinabalu that was our regular visitor every night at one of these 'cheap' hotels. Hmmm...
Unique Quality: rat in room... we saw here in bathroom and we found out she was eating my cakes...

My House Inn: no durian here...
We paid 35 RM/night and it was our favourite place to stay while in Sarawak. For that price we got bathroom included (with hot shower), room service, TV and nice view over one of the city's main streets. It was very clean place and there was no rat in the room like in the other one where we stayed for our first night in Bintulu (which was cheapest hotel in town, for 25 RM)
Unique Quality: Nice people, good quality for that price.
