on December 21, 2008The name Merdeka means independence. So, the hotel is like stepping into a time machine, bringing you back to post independence day of Sarawak. The hotel is like a museum, there's even a black and white photo of Sir James Brooke on a boat in Sarawak river in the toilet. Hmmmm.
Anyway, the staff is friendly, service is OK, buffet breakfast is just like any other hotel breakfast.
I really like the old colonial style of the hotel. Its got the Victorian feel, with wall to wall wallpaper. Very cosy indeed.
