Imperial Palace Hotel, Miri, is strategically located in the Pelita Commercial Centre, within Miri City itself. This Hotel has 300 contemporary rooms, few seminar rooms, 1x fitness and gym centre, open air Jacuzzi pool, surau, free and easy restaurant as well as café dining facilities.
I have ate at the "Menawan Restaurant" located on the ground floor of Imperial Palace Hotel and I find the food to be really good and the service to be friendly and fast.
This hotel is within walking distance to the offices and professional firms such as architect and law firms, dental and medical clinics, the many local food outlets, restaurants and bakeries, interior design showrooms, supermarket and departmental store; plus in the evening, this Pelita area is a lively area as there are numerous entertainment centre such as karaoke, pubs and bistros as well as clubbing outlets. The hotel basement car park provides over 100 car parking spaces for hotel guests.
It was a surprised experience from a Dillenia hostel/guesthouse based on the services, facilities, and breakfast quality. It is probably one of the very best hostels in Borneo, if not in Malaysia or in Asia.
The dorm bed is RM30 and single room is RM50 (Apr 2009). Although the dorm bed is RM5 more than the "famous" Highlands hostel (which is charged RM25), the experience is completely different. Single room is RM50 and is the same as Highlands.
Services from the host, Mr and Mrs Lee, are caring. Toilet and shower room facilities are 100% clean. Breakfast is amazing. These include at least 2 types of fruits, real butter, jam and toasts, instant Nestcafe coffe - Gold label ( not the cheaper red label) or Sabah tea bags, which come with pasturized liquid creamer, not the coffeemate cream powder.
There are 2 terminals for all days internet connection. You can check out www.hostelworld.com for detail and booking of the room.
This 3-star hotel comes with full air-conditioned rooms... IDD and CTV are also among the amendities provided... Bathrooms come with hot and cold water...
There are two cafes which serves local and west food...
As far as I can remember, the Park Hotel Miri has always been there to cater for business visitors to Miri. Hence, Park Hotel Miri is one of the oldest hotel in Miri. It is located in the town center, close to down town Miri, and near the Tamu Muhibbah.
Park Hotel has a good restaurant on the ground floor, serving international cuisine.
The hotel has 98 rooms with air conditioning, direct dial telephone, satelite/cable tv, refrigeration, hot/cold running water, shower, 220 voltage, etc.
I've include Park Hotel for Miri visitors who would like the option to stay in the city downtown and who doesn't want to pay high prices for hotel accommodation.
it is air-conditioned and the facilities are ok. Has TV, hot and cold shower, but dont have a fridge inside. costs RM 65 for single bed but we took a family room which costs RM 85.
Stay here for 2 nights. A mattress is provied, but encourage to bring along sleeping bag cause it's kinda cold at night. There are bathroom, kitchen with almost complete tools (bring own food to cook), and dining table.
This camp site is in a valley and there is a river in front of it. Anyway, no need to take water from the river cause the bathroom and kitchen is quite 'modern'. This river is such a heaven after 2-3 hrs jungle trekking or 4-5 hrs mountain hiking.
Our 1st night accommodation is a 4 pax room with attach bathroom and air-con. 5 min walk to the cafe. RM120 for 4 pax for such room is can't complain. But for more budget, can get those without air-con count on bed one, which is only RM18 per person.
This is an apartment-styled accomodation which is situated above a shopping complex.
It's very quite and u can view the whole town when u are up there. The room has a small kicthen, living room, dining table, bathroom and of course the bed room. You can choose either a 3-bedroom,2 or 1 bedroom according to your needs.Of corse the price varies from the size. It's not recomended if u wish to have service like a 5 star hotel, and the swimming pool there is just ok.My friend from korea did not like that and she had moved to a 5 star hotel instead. She prefers the hotel by the beach and also the swimming pool of a 5 star hotel. ;P I think this depends on the person itself.
Swimming pool, tennis court, and all the basic facilities. One thing that's good is it's situated in the centre of the town,no need to worry about the transport is u manage to walk down town.Besides, below there,it's a shopping complex,u can do your shopping there and dine in the fastfood restaurants or
the foodcourt there.u can also cacth a taxi anytime at the main door of the shopping complex.
