Years ago, when I was staying in Miri, I'd always visit the Parkcity Everly Hotel (when it was under "Holiday Inn Miri") - either to enjoy the restaurants, bar or the cocktail lounge.
This is a good 4-star hotel with excellent facilities including fully-equipped health club/gym, sauna, swimming pool, restaurants, bar and lounges. The hotel has 168 well-furnished spacious bedrooms and suites. The reception and lobby area is also large and extended into the Ruai Lobby Lounge area, which is facing the ocean; you can see the ocean through the ceiling-to-floor- glass windows.
The hotel is an ideal base from where you can explore the famous Mulu Caves, Niah cave, and Lambir Falls.
Unique Quality: The hotel is located at the Brighton area of Miri, fronting the mouth of the Miri River and the South China Sea. The hotel has a well-equipped gym and a large swimming pool, 2 good restaurants namely Melinau Terrace Coffee House (International) and Loong Jin Restaurant (Chinese); and 3 cocktail bar and lounges, namely, Ruai Lobby Lounge, Jalur Serang Poolside Bar, and Executive Club Lounge.
Parkcity Everly Miri was formerly Holiday Inn Miri, and is situated by the beach in Tanjung Lobang area, a 10 min drive from Miri city center. This is a popular hotel for guests, business function and family parties.
The rooms are spacious and you can choose between a seaview and hillview room, personally I'd go for the seaview rooms. The lounge in the lobby area serves a variety of drinks and has an area to relax while you listen to live music, occasionally played by a filipino band
This Hotel just 5 minutes away from Miri Centre by car iws situated near the sea, altough the beach is not made to be used.
Swimming in the sea is also not recommended, because of the high traffic on water.
This hotel is known by the locals as the HOLLIDAY iNN, but they changed name now
Unique Quality: The crew was very friendly and the prices were allright. A luxer room on seaside costed me 165 Ringit (about 45 euro) per night.
Landside rooms are available from 105 Ringit (25 Euro).

As far as I can remember, the Park Hotel Miri has always been there to cater for business visitors to Miri. Hence, Park Hotel Miri is one of the oldest hotel in Miri. It is located in the town center, close to down town Miri, and near the Tamu Muhibbah.
Park Hotel has a good restaurant on the ground floor, serving international cuisine. The hotel has 98 rooms with air conditioning, direct dial telephone, satelite/cable tv, refrigeration, hot/cold running water, shower, 220 voltage, etc.
I've include Park Hotel for Miri visitors who would like the option to stay in the city downtown and who doesn't want to pay high prices for hotel accommodation.
Imperial Palace Hotel, Miri, is strategically located in the Pelita Commercial Centre, within Miri City itself. This Hotel has 300 contemporary rooms, few seminar rooms, 1x fitness and gym centre, open air Jacuzzi pool, surau, free and easy restaurant as well as café dining facilities.
I have ate at the "Menawan Restaurant" located on the ground floor of Imperial Palace Hotel and I find the food to be really good and the service to be friendly and fast. This hotel is within walking distance to the offices and professional firms such as architect and law firms, dental and medical clinics, the many local food outlets, restaurants and bakeries, interior design showrooms, supermarket and departmental store; plus in the evening, this Pelita area is a lively area as there are numerous entertainment centre such as karaoke, pubs and bistros as well as clubbing outlets. The hotel basement car park provides over 100 car parking spaces for hotel guests.

Where is this Hotel? RIHGA Royal Hotel Miri. Doesn't exist in Miri. No such hotel, pls update your info. Or change name to Miri Marriott Resort & Spa.
I dont think that you read it carefully. on VT travel Guide on Miri Hotel updated By BorneoGrrl on April 3, 2006, she did mention that RIHGA Royal Hotel Miri is now known as Miri Marriott Resort & Spa. And the previous post about the hotel made by kyoub when she visited the hotel in 2005.

Hi din,
Thanks for the reply. I'm refering to the headlines which should now read "Miri Marriott Resort & Spa" and not Rihga. When I do search on Miri Marriott using Yahoo search engine, instead "Rihga Hotel" appeared first on the search list. Miri Marriott paid Yahoo subscription fee for this search listing but it seeing other name appearing brings a concern.
Best regards
Hi again din,
The search code for Miri Marriott is "MYYMC".
The headline should not be change. because it's based on member experience when visiting the hotel. there are many changes made by Marriott to improve the hotel. and what the member of VT (Kyoub) commented was based on the hotel before it is taken over by. So, I don't think that Marriott should take any credit from it.
In addition to that, you can't book Rihgo hotel from VT website. but you can book for Marriott Miri Resort and Spa. you can also read VT member comments about the hotel at http://www.virtualtourist.com/hotels/Asia/Malaysia/State_of_Sarawak/Miri-1283484/Hotels_and_Accommodations-Miri-Marriott_Miri_Resort_And_Spa-BR-1.html
