I went to the Royal Mulu Resort in June 1995 together with my sister. We were on a group tour to the Mulu Caves and we were booked into this hotel. We enjoyed our stay at this Resort, as the rooms were comfortable and air-conditioned. I would recommend others to stay in this Resort if you want to have a comfortable and hassle-free stay while visiting the Mulu Caves and the surrounding rainforest area.
Designed in the style of ethnic longhouses, this relaxing Resort was built on wooden stilts, three metres above the ground. Linked by a series of wooden walkways, the Resort stands on the banks of the Melinau River, in the midst of a beautiful natural environment.
All guest rooms have parquet floorings with private bath and shower, mini-bar, individually controlled air-conditioning, standard amenities, hot and cold showers. The Resort has its own water treatment plant, which supplies all guest rooms with clean and safe water. Every room enjoys a spacious verandah, which offers guests a stunning view of either the rich surrounding jungle or the Melinau River.
