We booked their 1-bedroom deluxe apartment for a night and found the checking-in quite fast, considering we arrived early at 10 am. The sheer size of the apartment was quite overwhelming since there were only my wife and I, with our 2 year old toddler in tow. Our earlier requests for a non-smoking high floor with baby cot were catered to upon arrival.

The buffet breakfast selection at the 22nd floor Sky Lounge was quite limited but sufficient for us. The main swimming pool and infinity whirpool nearby are nice places to chill with great views of Kuala Lumpur cityscapes, especially at night.

Overall, The Ascott Kuala Lumpur is a great place to stay, preferably more than a night. Most of their staff are welcoming, except for one female staff at the reception who could do with a smile or two.

We will definitely return on future visits to Kuala Lumpur.

Unique Quality: Amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, dining and living areas, bedroom with study table and book shelves, walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom supplied with L'Occitane toiletries. Televisions provided in the living area and bedroom are the CRT types housed in armoires, not the wall-mounted Plasma or LCD ones. A home theatre system is provided though, to play DVDs, CDs, video and cassette tapes. Needless to say, everything one could need is provided.

    Luxurious service suites

Often described as the best service suites in the city. The Ascott is a modern 5-star establishment. The room was nice, but not the best I have seen. The lobby was beatifully done with modern facilities. The main selling point to me was the swimming pool at the roof top which opens up to fabulous view of the city.

Unique Quality: The roof top swimming pool, modern facilities

Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)

by arissyam

Kuala Lumpur City Centre is condsidered as the main downtown of Kuala Lumpur today. Kuala Lumpur city centre consists of Petronas Twin Towers, Maxis Towers, Suria KLCC Shopping Centre, The Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Traders Hotel, Recreational park and a mosque. So within the KLCC vicinity there are two hotels, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Traders Hotel by Shangril-La.

For 5 star hotel choose the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. Do acknowledge that Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Mandarin Hotel Kuala Lumpur are two different hotels in two different areas. there are numbers of hotels at the surrounding of the KLCC area such as The Ascott Kuala Lumpur, Impiana KLCC Spa and Hotel, PNB Darby Park, The Zone Apartment and Suites, Nikko Hotel (JAL), The Corus Kuala Lumpur, The Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur.

I would suggests u to stay at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur as it located next to Suria KLCC Shopping Centre that adjacent to Petronas Twin Towers. Suria KLCC have numbers of international restaurants, two foodcourts, fastfoods, Cineplex (TGV), major retailers (Isetan & Parkson),exclusive boutique (BVLGARI,CHOPARD, LV, CHANEL, GUCCI, Emporio Armani; to name few), supermarkets (Cold Storage and Isetan), bookshops (Kinokuniya and Times), discovery centre (Petrosains), art gallery and lrt stations (KLCC) too!. its also located within walking distance to night spot area in Jalan Tun Perak (Beach, Modestos, Nuovo) and Jalan Ampang (Zouk KL). For local food adventure, go to Kampong Baru and Pasar Chow Kit (local wet market) or Tunku Abdul Rahman Road at Saturday evening.

Hope this will help u.

Family accommodatin in KL

Can someone help with family accommodation for 2A 3C in the city area. Which site is the best to book through. We looked at Holiday Villa apartments but then read it's too far away from shops. Any help would be appreciated

for best serviced apartment....

i would suggest u to stay at the ascott kuala lumpur. located at jalan pinang which is opposite to petronas twin tower. its really good place to stay and u can shop at suria klcc (the twin tower mall)and u can find groceries from isetan or cold storage up to chopard jewelleries there. its only five minutes walk. the most i luv about this is their swimming pool located on the 22nd floor where u can enjoy the twin tower view by night time..its gorgeous...

another one is PNB Darby Park which located at the end of the KLCC park. its a bit away if compared to the ascott kl.but still a good location.u can enjoy the view of klcc tower n kl tower at sunset from here. there are shops at ampang park complex.
go to

lanson place, crown regency, holiday villa is quite away from shops.

your sincerely.
