Kuala Lumpur City Centre is condsidered as the main downtown of Kuala Lumpur today. Kuala Lumpur city centre consists of Petronas Twin Towers, Maxis Towers, Suria KLCC Shopping Centre, The Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Traders Hotel, Recreational park and a mosque.So within the KLCC vicinity there are two hotels, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Traders Hotel by Shangril-La.
For 5 star hotel choose the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. Do acknowledge that Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Mandarin Hotel Kuala Lumpur are two different hotels in two different areas. there are numbers of hotels at the surrounding of the KLCC area such as The Ascott Kuala Lumpur, Impiana KLCC Spa and Hotel, PNB Darby Park, The Zone Apartment and Suites, Nikko Hotel (JAL), The Corus Kuala Lumpur, The Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur.
I would suggests u to stay at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur as it located next to Suria KLCC Shopping Centre that adjacent to Petronas Twin Towers. Suria KLCC have numbers of international restaurants, two foodcourts, fastfoods, Cineplex (TGV), major retailers (Isetan & Parkson),exclusive boutique (BVLGARI,CHOPARD, LV, CHANEL, GUCCI, Emporio Armani; to name few), supermarkets (Cold Storage and Isetan), bookshops (Kinokuniya and Times), discovery centre (Petrosains), art gallery and lrt stations (KLCC) too!. its also located within walking distance to night spot area in Jalan Tun Perak (Beach, Modestos, Nuovo) and Jalan Ampang (Zouk KL). For local food adventure, go to Kampong Baru and Pasar Chow Kit (local wet market) or Tunku Abdul Rahman Road at Saturday evening.
