Staying at Little India district: Staying at Little India district

  • Most peoples never consider this location, to me, this location is so nice, it has so many hotels of low budget and mid range. Visitors come to this location are mostly Muslims tourists. I have been to this location so many times and I saw so many tourists and so many hotels. Picture is a hotel Grand Paradise right in the middle of Little India district. Touristscan definitely try this place the next time coming to Kuala Lumpur.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur: WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW   Compare Rates NEW!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Upon arrival into KL we jumped in a cab and headed to the hotel. This was about 5am as the bus was faster than we had hoped. And so we arrived before 6am with only a reservation for the coming night. This was the only portion of the hotel stay I have any complaint on. The man and woman at the front desk were in no way treating me in a manner that reflects my Hilton activity. I am not one to throw the status around but the bottom line is they were not offering me the rooms that were available and wanted me to pay for the upgrade I had already been granted for the coming night. In the end it worked out to where I had to give up the upgrade for the coming night and got a deluxe room at half rate for the remainder of the day. This deluxe room they immediately upgraded to and executive room which made little sense to me. But what an upgrade it was. We were given the single best hotel room I have ever had. We had the privilege of having one of the two rooms in this hotel with the private sundeck. This sundeck was very large as you can see in the attached pictures and gave excellent unobstructed views of the everything in 180 degree view. The room itself was a standard executive room with a very comfortable king bed. 40something inch plasma tv. The bathroom was quite nice as well. With two large sliding doors you could make it all one room with the bedroom or separate. A standalone shower and deep and large tub along with a single sink on a modern stand round out the facilities while the toilet was in a separate offshoot beside the shower.

LEGEND HOTEL - KUALA LUMPUR: Great accomodation, poor service   Compare Rates NEW!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • It is not usual for me staying in these posh 5 stars hotels, but this time, my friend could book a room there for just 21 euro, so I decided it was a good chance to have some confort for a small amount of money. The room was confortable, clean exc. but I found the service definitly poor. Minibar was empty(which is bad when you arrive at 1 am and you only want a beer before going to sleep). I needed a taxi at early morning for the airport, asked them to book it, got the confirmation, and found no taxi the morning after, and I could add other things that did not go as they should but I would be boring. Conclusion is that huge hotels like this one can have really special rooms but usually they just lose the contact with the person they have in front, they work just like in a factory, I do this you do that and if anything is out of the planned standards, the chain will breack and your wish will never be realised. In small hotels you usually deal with the same person for check in, laudery service, changing money, lagguage store, room service and check out, so it is just more difficult to misunderstand and you usually get a much better service for less money!

The jacuzzi pool. they give you 2 vouchers for breakfast even if you are alone in a standard room, so, invite your friends to join! The funny surprise was getting to know that in this hotel there is also a college for tourism management, I just realised I prefer people ignorant about management but with a good attitude with the tourist. The location is excellent as you are a few steps from the city railway.

Youth Hostel: Kuala Lumpur Youth Hostel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • I'll start with the positive- super cheap. 100 ringgit for a 5 night stay. You won't find anything even close to that price anywhere. Thats roughly $25 USD for the entire week. The negatives ok first of all very dirty, showers and toilets. Bring your own roll of toilet paper or buy one at the desk for 1 ringgit and carry it everywhere with you. Another negative they close their doors at 12 midnight and don't open again until 7 am. That means you can't go in or out during that period of the night. That's right your stuck in the street if you get back too late. Overall I rate this hostel very poorly. Judging by the attendance of the place I think many others did as well.

Kameleon Travellers Lodge - Puduraya: Kameleon Travellers Lodge - Puduraya
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • RM25.00 to RM50.00 is the price. The location is opposite Puduraya station (next to Chinatown). Opposite Puduraya Station has a 7-Eleven a the corner very obvious. Walk to 7-Eleven and walk again up the road where you can see so many Indian peoples praying at the cornet temple. Walk to towards the Indian temple and turn right, you will see a big smelly dustbin. Walk again about 50 steps, you can see a blue color signboard somewhere in front of you - Kameleon Travellers Lodge. On this road, you have more than one Kameleon but 2 or 3 more budget hotels.

Crown Regency Apartment: In The Heart of KL
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's just 5-10 minutes away from KLCC-Petronas Twin Towers and from there, equal distances to most sights. There's a "Coffee Beans and Tea Leaves" cafe on ground level and along the road, Jalan P.Ramlee, a concentration of night spots. Behind the building, is a side street of sarabat stores selling local street fare should you ever get hungry after midnight. The apartments has a swimming pool, a gym and coin-operated laundry services. Suitable for a group of travellers or a family.

    Location, location, location. Really convenient.

This 5-star hotel is beautiful. It is possibly the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. The rooms are very well appointed and have all the luxuries that you expect of a 5-star hotel. Breakfast was included with our room tariff and was sensational. i didn't need to eat for the rest of the day becyase there were so many delicious choices at breakfast. There is a 50m pool (Pictured) and we had to use it, despite the torrential rain. There is a pool bar and towels are provided.

Views of Petronas Towers from some room, huge pool, gym, sauna, bars, restaurants, ball rooms, short walk to town.
