The Pondok Lodge: KL finest hostel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • I stayed here for 3 weeks and I can tell you: this is a gem! A little bit more expensive than the grotty places in Chinatown, but that's worth it for sure. Great and tidy rooms with aircon, a lot of spots and corners where you can hangout and a roof-garde. And last but certainly not least: the breakfast.

The Regent Kuala Lumpur: A little too Old school for me......   Compare Rates NEW!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Well, to me the Regent/4 Seasons, should be exceptional, every need met, incredibly beautiful with impeccable service. I was not impressed. The room was showing signs of age, and in need of a deep cleaning (they must have scouring powder in MY.) The morning breakfast was ok and it was nice to receive a paper. But overall I felt the hotel was not worth the expense. In fact when I went to the Hard Rock Cafe across town for a bite, and saw the rooms at the Concorde, I went back to the Regent to immediately pack and moved (and I only had 1 more day.) The Spa at the regent was LACKING, however the gym was ok, but I am still not sure the masseuse knew what to do with a WOMAN client. I was at the Regent for New Years, and the bummer part was there was NO where to go, sit, and get a bite to eat as a hotel guest and not have to pay a ransom for the privilege of sitting there on "New Years", regardless if you were celebrating there at midnight or not. Anyway, I would not stay here again, the crowd was much older, business, etc. And I am a tourist whether on holiday or not, I want to meet interesting people and have conversation - the restaurant and lounges are isolating. One redeeming quality is there is a pretty good shopping mall right across the street.

    Nice Pool.

Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur: A stone's throw from Bukit Bintang   Compare Rates NEW!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 5 days. We chose this hotel over the internet after comparing the price and location for many hotels. We were not disappointed. The room is very well appointed with all the amenites any luxurious hotel room should have. A comfortable bed a spectacular view from the window, a bathtub, hairdryer, coffee tea making facilities...everything. The only thing it does not have is complimentary drinking water. The staff says the tap water in the bathroom is safe to drink but one should never take a chance on that in a foreign country. The breakfast is very good. Since Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country they do not however serve any pork products. They do make up for that by serving the most delicious beef bacon. The staff is friendly and efficient. The best part about the hotel is that it is a 5 minute walk from the Bintang walk which is where you need to be for your shopping, eating and nightlife.

The hotel has a LCD computer monitor in the room adn you can surf the net for about 30 ringgits for 24 hours which is quite cheap. some of the rooms have a view of the petronas twin towers.

This is a great hotel in a very good location. Stay in the cheaper part of the hotel for great views of the Petronas Twin Towers. Would definitely recommend this hotel for visitors to Kuala Lumpur.

Great views of the Petronas Twin Towers. Good location with easy access to the monorail.

Royale Bintang X-Novotel Ce: Combining comfort stay and shopping   Compare Rates NEW!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's one of the best spot for both of comfort seeker and shopsacholic. The hotel is pretty new when we stayed there. It is very clean and neat.

What I love is: -The hotel is next to the Curve (shopping mal) -The hotel is opposite of IKEA -It's walking distant to Fitness First and Cinema -At the back of the hotel is The Walk, consisting of restaurants and coffee shops It's definitely great!! Other unique quality is the "security card" which only can function the elevator. You don't have a card...sorry, you can't go to other floor

Bintang Warisan Hotel: Hotel at the Golden Triangle
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Bintang Warisan is a good budget hotel within the Golden Triangle Area of Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Alor, famous for it's hawker food stalls is just behind this hotel. Also within walking distance are the Bukit Bintang Mall and Sungei Wang Plaza. For RM105 a night, the Superior Rooms are very clean and well maintained. The bathroom is a bit small but everything works fine. They also have a complimentary coffee and tea making facility in the rooms. What I didn't see is a safety deposit box. If you're not bringing any large sums of cash or valuables, that wouldn't matter much. Breakfast isn't buffet though unlike in other hotels I've stayed in. It is a set meal and you have a choice between American or Malaysian breakfast. Going back to KLIA is a breeze. Just take a cab directly to the airport for RM50 if you have the luxury of time because KLIA is 60 minutes away by cab. If you are in a rush, take the cab to KL Sentral Station then board the KL Ekspres going to KLIA. If you're flying via Malaysia Air or Cathay Pacific, you may also check in your luggage and get your boarding passes at KL Sentral. Fare is RM8 for the cab and RM35 for the train. The trip will only take 30 minutes.
