if you're indonesian and think you can speak indonesian to malaysian because the language is similar, i advise you to better speak english since some words that are different lead you into confusion.

a full day at beach in April...it would be a very long day going to Terengganu area as on West side it would be not so good in spite of monsoon.
have a look at airasia it there are available early and late flights as by bus it takes hours.
closest beach is morib. better beaches @ port dickson, less than 2hrs away by car.

note most beaches on west coast cant compare to east coast islands. so if time/budget permits, head to tioman or redang, both of which are easily accessible by flight coz departure from kl is at a much closer airport (subang)

Port Dickson is the nearest beach within 2 hours drive.
You could venture to the free port of Langkawi by flight but you would need to stay over to enjoy.
Further north, you could go to Penang and the beaches along Batu Ferringhi. Penang is about 6 hours by road but there are numerous flights from KL to Penang daily.
try port dickson, less than 2 hours

try and coincide your visit with some of the MAJOR Malaysian holidays. Why? So that you can catch some spectacular fireworks and enjoy the festive atmosphere. That would be just perfect! Here's a brief listing of some special events/ holidays celebrated here in Malaysia:
~ Merdeka Parade @ 31 August. A very colorful parade celebrating Malaysia's independence.
~ Thaipusam. A Hindu cultural and religious event and it usually falls between the 15th of January to the 15th of February every year. It is believed that on this auspicious day, the stars, Pusam and Brihaspati, are united as one. Hindus believe that by celebrating Thaipusam, they are cleansed from their bad karma redeemable in many ways. Batu Caves, a Hindu sanctuary located on the outskirts of K.L. plays host to this annual religious event. You need to possess a very brave heart when you're watching these devotees carry the 'Kavadi'.
~ Color of Malaysia. Purely for artsy folks and culture vultures. This is a month-long cultural extravaganza happening in the month of September. I highly recommend that you coincide your visit during this month-long festival.
O.K., enough said. Now you can start planning for your next vacation!
..KL in some points has pretty shady trees..I've seen some nice areas that you can just sit in the street sides if you get lost. From Bukit Bintang to the KLCC is quiet far around 10 to 15 minutes walk but if you're used to hike then this isn't any far. Now, they have nice streets to boast to and the shady trees that will freshen' you up!
In general, if you are coming to Kuala Lumpur with main purpose for shopping, congratulations, you have chosen the right place. Of course you are not here to shop, in fact you have so many attractive places, delicious foods and beautiful peoples to watch. Shopping in Kuala Lumpur is actually something you can do non-stop for at least a week, two days is definitely not enough, but that you need to be very rich.
Not sure why they do this, but I saw a couple babies at Batu caves like this: Head shaven and a kind of orange paste painted on their scalps...
Guess it is either for religious reasons... or sun screen ??? ( you can see that I am quite the worldly traveler...)
