Mid Valley Hotel

The Hotel offer easy access to Mid Valley Shopping Mall and is the cheapest amongst the three available Hotels within the Mid Valley Mall, the others being Boulevard and The Gardens.

Rooms are compact with all the amenities you'd expect. Breakfast has a varied choice but nothing to shout about.

If shopping is your primary concern this would be a great Hotel to stay.

Unique Quality: A short passage way leads you straight to Mid Valley Mall where you can shop till you drop.

Only the small rooms tell you it's a 3 star

We booked my Australian daughter in for two nights and paid RM185 a night, B&B.
Price for foreigners is RM210 so if you know a local, you can save RM25. (RM3.80=US$1)

It's very central to most of the action -
stuck inside the second largest shopping centre in KL;
50 metres to the Komuter and LRT trains;
One rail stop to the Central Markets (Pasar Seni) and China Town.
Twin Towers, Bukit Bintang and Bangsar also 5 minutes by LRT from here.

Unique Quality: Built partly atop the Mid Valley Shopping Complex

Mid-Valley Megamall: Hotel for shopaholics 1

This is a hotel popular with business travellers as well as shopaholics as the colossal structure that is Mid Valley Megamall is just next door.

There are only 7 floors of non-smoking floors. For a hotel that is more than 20 storeys high, it is almost pathetic. The corridors had taken on a musty stale cigarette smell, even on non-smoking floors. The rooms are functional, cosy at best but small at worst and around in corners, looking a little worn-down from wear & tear. The room phone does not work properly - it hanged up on you.
My room-mate found a dead bug on the bed.

The health club does not provide complimentary services for staying guests. Guests has to pay MYR30 to use the saunas, jacuzzis & hot pools.

Unique Quality: The breakfast at the Citi Cafe wasn't too bad which is a redeeming quality. The concierge provided excellent services for guests, whether it was with regard to storing of luggages or arranging transport. Sadly, that may not be said of Reception. Having booked a room on a non-smoking floor, they managed to send my friends to a room on a smoking floor, forcing my friends to change rooms.

A convienient hotel if you're ready to compromise

Despite being a relatively new hotel, i found that the ammenities were not very well maintained. The room size was of an average standard. What i found most attractive about my stay here was the convienience that was offered to me. Being located adjacent to the Midvalley Megamall, the largest shopping mall in Malaysia, I was able to go shopping whenever i felt the whim. Also, being located in close proximity to the LRT station Universiti, transportation isn't an issue. Taxis are almost a nuisance sometimes as they tend to wait out the lobby conjoined with the main entrance of Megamall, creating a block in the traffic flow.

Unique Quality: As i have previously pointed out, the greatest asset this hotel has is the location. Situated a 5 minute drive from Bangsar, and 15 minutes from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this hotel is a good choice for the family that loves and intends to shop.

3-Star Hotel

This hotel is a very popular choice with Singaporeans. Mainly the reason is that the hotel is linked to the Mid Valley Megamall and also the price is cheap.
The standard room is very small and if you travel from far, you will end up with little or no walking space when you open up 2 or more luggages.
The buffet breakfast is not very enticing, but there will be lots of food for you to choose out in the Megamall.
The hotel's location is not very convenient and it is far from the KLCC, which is another huge shopping mall. However, the Mid Valley Megamall does provide shuttle service to and fro from selected Lrt station.

Living in the heart of KL

Strategically located just next to the Mid Valley MegaMall, it's easy to commute to major townships such as Petaling Jaya, Bangsar, Puchong, Damansara and Subang Jaya by road. A regular shuttle bus also departs the mall from the North Court to Bangsar LRT station at 15-minutes interval, providing you even more access to major city attractions.

Unique Quality: What attracts me most is the "Instant Confirmation" via the hotel’s online booking facility, where I can confirm my reservation at preferred rates. The hotel follows up with a gentle reminder as your arrival date approaches and also a post-stay survey to improve their service offerings. This probably represents the best value proposition for the budget conscious, with quality accommodation, amenities and locality all-in-one at a discount. Check it out!
