A bad way to end a vacation
by TripAdvisor Member MemberOntario
We recently spent one night at the Concorde Inn to catch an early flight from KLIA the next morning. Next time we will definitely pay the extra to stay at the Pan Pacific and really regretted that we didn't do so this time.
When we arrived, there was no one to help us with our bags and we eventually retrieved our own luggage cart and piled our belongings on. As we pushed the cart through to the front desk, we saw that there was not only a concierge, but he was just standing watching us. The reception at the front desk bordered on rude and, when we asked where the breakfast buffet would be in the morning, she told us to ask the person who would take us to our room. (It turned out all she had to say was "it's through that door").
We went to the restaurant immediately upon arriving where the greeting was hostile and, because we did not have a dinner buffet voucher, the hostess did not want to seat us or allow us to order off the menu (that other guests were using). It was very different than any reception we had received in the previous two weeks everywhere else in Malaysia.
The room -- which was supposed to be one of their upgraded deluxe models -- was extremely basic and the bathroom was filled with insects - both dead and alive. The bathroom only had two bath towels, not even a hand towel to wash our hands or face. Although the hotel caters to people who are spending an overnight to catch a flight, there wasn't even an alarm clock in the room. And the locking mechanism from our room to the outdoor hallway was simply a push button lock!
It was a miserable way to end two weeks in Malaysia. We cannot recommend anything about this hotel except that it is close to the airport.
Good for the overnight.

Not much to say about the hotel ...
- close to the airport by shuttle ( not the closest, but not expensive )
- good price value
- very, very , very bad food
- good service

Not the best

Stayed 1 night, to catch early flight the next day. For the cost, and proximity to the airport, it probably is not a bad deal. However, there were several problems I faced.
Upon arrival, my reservation card was lost, so I had to redo one at the counter. In my room, the phone line was not working, and despite the steward filing the complaint, nothing was done until late that night (I'll get back to that). As a result, I could not get any internet. I had to use the internet in the lobby, which has only 2 computers.
This internet continually locked up, and became so frustrating to use that I just left it. Lots of mosquitoes were around in the lobby - they were probably in the room as well, but thank goodness for the a/c for keeping them away.
I then ordered room service. They forgot the drink, but it was included on the bill, and they did not walk with any change, so while eating, I was interupted 2 times - once to bring the correct bill and pay, and once to collect change.
But the worst for me was, while sleeping with all the lights out, I was awakened by loud banging on my front door, minutes to midnight. I tried to ignore, but it was very persistent. When I opened the door, I saw 2 workmen, walking with a new phone and some tools, telling me that they were there to fix the phone line!
The room was quite large and comfortable, with a large bathroom. However, the entire hotel looked and felt more like a beach house than a hotel.
If you are in a bind and need somewhere to stay close to the hotel that is affordable, then this is an option. Otherwise, I would stay clear.

If I'm not mistaken, you can go to LCCT from KL Sentral or vice versa by bus which only cost you RM 9. It takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes from and to KL Sentral. SInce you have early flight better to take taxi.

Sorry, forgot thoughts about accommodation:
Why don't you stay at the airport hotel near KLIA terminal? As there is a shuttle bus from KLIA to LCCT and it is only 10 minutes away the transfer should be easy.

Another choice for you is to take a taxi from LCCT and go to Sepang. There are 2 hotels there, the Empress Hotel and the De Palma Hotel. I am not sure how much the cost will be but when taking the cab, do insist on the driver to use the meter. After midnight until 7.00 am, all cabs charge double the meter rate...

Seems I also need advice on a 7am flight from LCCT. Before LCCT I used Concorde before and found it very convenient for KLIA. Surfing the web I have now three choices considering the distance & circutuos road for LCCT. Concorde Inn, Empress & Seri Malaysia Bagan Lalang - cannot find a map for De Palma.
Do anyone know the distance of of Seri Malaysia Bagan Lalang to LCCT? How many minutes travel time? Is taxi readilly available at 5:30 in the morning?
