I've not stayed in the hotel myself but I've tried the food at the hotel and it's good. An international business class hotel that emphasises efficiency, comfort, security and value for money -- all delivered with genuine Malaysian warmth and hospitality.

I'd heard that the rooms in this hotel were somewhat old, but that was not the case. I had a very nice room (1313) with blow dryer, robe & slippers. I even had a view of the Petronas Towers reflected in the building across the street. Service & location were excellent. I was checked in immediately & my bags were whisked up to my room. There are stores in which to shop downstairs & several restaurants on the premises. The Nipah Coffee Shop downstairs is open until midnight & served a wonderful Caesar's salad. Likewise, the Etoile Restaurant on the lobby level served a good breakfast, at a reasonable price. There are also ATMs located close to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel Equatorial has a "control" box next to the bed which has buttons to control all of the lighting in the room (desk lamp, bathroom light, entry light, wall sconces, etc.), as well as the TV, radio & air conditioning.
