Cheras Area

Its located around a residential area, public transportation minimal and nothing much to offer around. Only stay when there are no choice. New just started this year (2002). A pretty good Thai Restaurant "Blue Dragon" next to this hotel.

Unique Quality: Quite a popular nightclub and spa located inside the hotel with 132 rooms.

Getting There,
If you are driving from Singapore to Genting Highlands on the MRR2, take exit to Cheras (Makro Supermart on the left), Roundabout take 12 o'clock, right at the traffic light, you should be able see Caliber on the right now.

Stay at Cheras area

by l_joo about Stay at Cheras area

This location is out of tourist spots, Cheras area is more to residentials but nowadays probably fast developing and the area has some hotels coming up, quite nice place in fact to explore, just that you don't see tourists on street, mostly local peoples. Picture is a hotel with easy name Hotel Cheras.

Bungee Jumping in Kuala Lumpur

by prettyreese

Hello everyone, i am going to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore. I might book a plane ticket instead of riding a 4 hours BUS ride. Now upon arrival what are the places that you can suggest. I will be there for 1 day only.

I would also like to try the BUNGEE JUMPING in Kuala Lumpur ( i heard they have it there, where is it located?). How much is the Bungee Jumping?

Im so excited to try the Bungee Jumping, i am really adventurous and i tried it before in Philippines.

Please reply. Thanks to you all!

Just outskirt of Kuala Lumpur, in Sunway Lagoon Petaling Jaya.

The Bungee jumping is part of Sunway Extreme Park. While you are there, might as well enjoy G-Force X, the reverse of bungy jumping.

I am also planning a trip to KL and elsewhere with the help of fellow VTers including din2x.

I just want to comment on SG-KL: firstly 4 hours is a bit optimistic, say 5 hours for the bus ride

Even then bus makes more sense to me. Why? Because if you fly, you have two airport transfers: 1 to 2 hour; lead time to check in and collect your luggage, if any: again 1 to 2 hours. So finally its almost the same time wise. Then you have to spend more on airport transfers. And finally many people find flying more energy consuming then bus or train...

Uhmm, actually, i really want a Plane ride to KL but my sister wants us to ride in a BUS. You have the same reason actually. Haha. So now i suggested that from SG we should take plane to KL then from KL to SG we might take bus so that we can manage our own time.

Additional advice.

If you plan to take plane, and really want to do sunway extreme park, take a flight that landed at SAAS Airport (Subang Airport A.K.A Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, such as Fireflyz instead of landing at KLIA or LCCT. Because SAAS airport is the nearest airport to Sunway, and taxi ride to Sunway only cost you around RM25

Good Luck, again. Salamat Po.

@ from SG we should take plane to KL then from KL to SG we might take bus

hmmm, thats good. This way you can compare both options and would give first hand advise of merits/demerits of both the options...

Have a great trip :)

Travel Tips for Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur Tip

This is the swimmingpool in KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center). It is very popular, as you can see, with local kids and their parents. Actually I believe it is more a fountain park than a swimming pool... The park itself offers a great jogging course too and a good place to enjoy a few hours in the open air (for the ones who can stand the heat!).

Padang Merdeka - The Independance Square is somehow the centre of the 'old' KL. The huge British-style lawn is surrounded by the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (on the picture, built in 1890) home of the Supreme Court, the Tudor-style Selangor Club and a 100 m high flag-pole and several fountains. On this very same square Malaysia's independance was declared in 1957!

When shaking hands

by ogb4619

Particularly with Malays but now days, with everyone, shake hands firmly but not too much so AND THEN gently place your hand over your heart for 1 or 2 seconds.

People will know you have studied the culture of indicating sincerity in your greeting.
