Good Location for connecting to trains and buses

There was so much construction in the area we couldn't see the hotelbut a cab driver near the bus stop easily pointed it out . It is only a 10minute walk fromK.L.Sentral.

The area around the hotel looked pretty seedy and although we felt safe walking at day ,I wouldn't feel comfortable walking here at night. It is really close to Little India ,only a short walk .
The room was nice and the staff friendly. They even had a breakfast to go for our 4 AM departure.

Clean & comfortable bed

We spent our last night in KL at this hotel & much happier than Radius International Hotel. It only 200m from the KL Sentral Station, 20m to the monorail that can take you to China Town in a zippy. Even with construction going a block away, the noise was never a problem. The new frig, the bathroom hardwares are up to date. The breakfast was excellent.

Unique Quality: There was cigarette smoke in the hall way on my floor. The surround shops & restaurants by the hotel are a bit dirty & old.

Good value and great location

by TripAdvisor Member purplejoe

We stayed in Hotel Sentral for 2 nights in December. The location is great for KL Sentral Station, airport transfers and the monorail. We arrived very late the first night and when we requested a non-smoking room, none were available. I will definitely be sure to request a non-smoking room prior to arrival next time as being a non-smoker the smoking room was quite wiffy. The staff were very friendly and moved us to a no smoking room the following day, which was much cleaner and larger. The rooms are nice with wi-fi, refridgerator, tea/coffee facilities and flat screen TV. Breakfast is included and is a buffet with plenty to choose from. There are also some nice indian restuarants in the surrounding area and a minimart next door. We would certainly stay here again next time we are in KL, the location is perfect for exploring KL and at 30 euro per night the hotel is excellent value.

good location, nice room. totally worth it

by TripAdvisor Member vvnvvn

rooms are pretty roomy, clean and it has a lcd tv, its located next to a monorail station which is really convenient. its about 5mins walk away from sentral station which you can get a train direct from the airport. The only bad thing was the fire sprinkler was leaking in the middle of the night. the staffs reacted pretty lost when there is a situation. but overall its a nice hotel to stay. at least in Kuala lumpur.

Excellent !

by TripAdvisor Member MichaelNieuwegein

Don't need to say more : just excellent (new building, great location, large rooms, helpful staff, WiFi in room : all-in-all very good price / quality).
We stayed in a spacious superior room (32 Euro / 45 USD / 150 MYR incl. breakfast buffet) on the 13th floor (room 1310) which had an excellent view (from two angles) over KL. Highly recommended !

Cleanliness standards could be better

by TripAdvisor Member boxfishlover

I went to this hotel because I arrived quite late to Kuala Lumpur and it's close to Sentral station. The first room I was given was "superior", the most modest one. Even though the hotel is fairly new, it was already showing quite a few scuffs and there were stains on the carpet. I felt a bit uneasy somehow, and a bit later I noticed a smallish cockroach on the bed. A moment later another one. I went to the reception and was upgraded to "de luxe" room, which was not only bigger but obviously better maintained.(I always thought the room rating only refers to the size and services of the room, not cleanliness.)
I still think this is a good choice at 150 MYR a night if you need to take an early bus to LCCT terminal, but ask for a de luxe level room straight away.
It is a pity, with a little bit of paint and more careful insect extermination this could be a quite good value hotel. The decor is an interesting combination of modern and kitsch, the gold curtains and little cottage pictures probably geared more towards Indian travellers.
Staff was very accomodating and friendly, too.

Great find in KL

by TripAdvisor Member EarlFlorida

Do not confuse this with the DE Sentral (which is around the corner, old and run down)! Sentral is less than one year old, modern, sparkling and very well run. Had a beautiful corner room with large screen TV on wall, comfortable bed. Close to KL Sentral monorail and 10 minute walk to KL Sentral Railway Station (from where Skybus goes to LCCT terminal - Air Asia, Tiger Airways) and KLIA Airport train. Breakfast buffet (included) was extraordinary - Asian and Western choices galore. Price for all this - less than $US 50/night.

i really recomended this hotel...

by TripAdvisor Member Alfadila

i love this hotel because the room is very clean, neat, NO smell bad & bug on the bed.. the location VERY STRATEGIC... just across the street to get the monorail station.. just need 1 minute walk.. so you can go to bukit bintang every time and petronas.. and least than 10 minute to walk to the central station (KL central station).. from this station you can everywhere.. (Petronas, chinatown, genting, etc)
the breakfast and service is average, nothing special...

Convenient

by TripAdvisor Member tsh2

I picked this based on the arrival point of the sky-bus from the airport. Although it really is a 10 min walk from the train station where the buses drop off, it is still convenient. The RapidKL network will get you to KLCC for example in 20 min, for RM1.60. The Monorail is closer to the hotel than the railway, but twice the price!
I was not overly impressed with breakfast, but free wi-fi and a fair price made up for this. Some of the guests seemed to be rather arrogant too - maybe i was just unlucky.

Going from LCCT to Hotel Sentral around midnight

by rohit_ja

Hi,

My flight to LCCT reaches around 11:30 PM and I have a room booked at Hotel Sentral. I want to know what's the safe way to reach Hotel Sentral from LCCT. I wan thinking of taking a Skybus from LCCT to Sentral. It will probably be around 1:30 AM when I reach Sentral so
- are taxis easily available at that time to go from Sentral station to Hotel Sentral ?
- Is it safe to just walk to the hotel since it seems to be very close.

I am travelling with wife and kid - not much luggage but just want to make sure that we stay safe.

thanks

There should not be a problem finding a cab at Sentral, and KL is a quite safe town, no problem walking around at night.

The Skybus to KL Central is correct.

Walking around KL Central area is as safe as walking in any big city at that time of the night but generally the area is well lit. From the disembarkation point, walk along the footpath towards the monorail station (this is away from the main KL Central terminal). The Hotel is at the back of the monorail station.

If you chose a taxi, it is not wise to use the many touts that will be around pushing for business when you step down from the bus. They will try to reap you off. Take the escalator up and enter the main building; walk straight towards the escalator and up again and the taxi booth is on the right by the exits. The fares are fixed although there's a 50% surcharge between midnight and 6am.

The walk to the taxi is just slightly shorter distance than walking to the Hotel.

In all honesty, Brickfields where KL Sentral is located is not the safest suburbs in KL. KL Sentral area is well lit and pretty secure but once you are outside KL Sentral compound at 1.30AM, it can look rather scary. Its not an area i like to walk around at night and i am a local. However, Hotel Sentral is on the main road and is very near. Walking there via the monorail route is relatively safe.

Just ask your wife to be careful with her handbag as snatch thief is getting more notorious in KL and don't take any dark alley way 'short-cuts'. You will be fine.

Getting a taxi around that time and for such short distance is still an option if you still dont feel safe.
taxis are a plenty if the driver are not snoozing nearby.
look for those that are yellow/white or the usual red/white taxis. Blue taxis usually charge more. and any other are taxi touts that you should really avoid.
dont pay more than RM8 (RM2 when the meter starts-around RM 1-2 to reach your hotel (its VERY near)-and double that price for after midnight rate)
