International Youth Hostel: International Youth Hostel

Located at Kampung Attap, 15 minutes slow walk from the back of Chinatown. Start walking from Nanyang Art shop (Jalan Petaling) toward Bulatan Merdeka (Jalan Maharajarela). Cross the heavy traffic roads underneath the monorail. You can see a small police station in front of you, keep walking until you see Kampung Attap road. The IYH is just nearby but the building is hidden behind, try to ask local peoples. I have been there many times and also to get my IYH Card done.

Trekker Lodge: Budget Backpackers Hostel

Treeker Lodge is located in the heart of KL at the Bukit Bintang area.

This is an ideal location with the shopping belt almost at your door steps. The famous Jalan Alor is only a street away. The monorail stations (Bukit Bintang & Raja Chulan) serves this area. The pubs and restaurant area (Tengkat Tong Shin & Changkat Bukit Bintang) are nearby where the night life is happening.

You could chose to stay in their dorms or private rooms and they even have private rooms with ensuite (RM90).

There are many backpackers which you could stay in so even if you dont book any accommodation you will still be able to find somewhere to stay.

Staying at Little India district: Staying at Little India district

Most peoples never consider this location, to me, this location is so nice, it has so many hotels of low budget and mid range. Visitors come to this location are mostly Muslims tourists. I have been to this location so many times and I saw so many tourists and so many hotels. Picture is a hotel Grand Paradise right in the middle of Little India district. Touristscan definitely try this place the next time coming to Kuala Lumpur.

Park Inn Hotel: Park Inn Hotel

Very well located and spectacular views from the room. KL is a very big city and its better stay in a place near Chinatown becase there you can walk easyly and find near where to have something to drink or eat. Near KL Tower the avenues are so big to walk. With swimmingpool and a lot of others things that make it a good hotel at good price. 141.57 RM no breakfast. I made the reservation throught internet paying latter direct in the hotel.

Espectacular views from the rooms.

Kameleon Travellers Lodge - Puduraya: Kameleon Travellers Lodge - Puduraya

RM25.00 to RM50.00 is the price. The location is opposite Puduraya station (next to Chinatown). Opposite Puduraya Station has a 7-Eleven a the corner very obvious. Walk to 7-Eleven and walk again up the road where you can see so many Indian peoples praying at the cornet temple. Walk to towards the Indian temple and turn right, you will see a big smelly dustbin. Walk again about 50 steps, you can see a blue color signboard somewhere in front of you - Kameleon Travellers Lodge. On this road, you have more than one Kameleon but 2 or 3 more budget hotels.

YMCA: Budget Accommodation in Brickfields

Brickfields is a medium-sized town and residential neighbourhood of Kuala Lumpur. There are several budget hotels here but the most decent is the YMCA Hostel. I've never stayed here because KL is my home town but some of my friends on budget travel have stayed here before and said that this place is value for money. The hostel is well established having started operation in the year 1905. It is strategically located near KL Sentral, a transportation hub of the city and accessible by KL Monorail that will take passengers to the city centre and other business and entertainment districts of KL such as Bukit Bintang. The KL Monorail Tun Sambanthan Station is within walking distance from the hostel.

Rooms are air-conditioned and carpeted. Standard rooms are with attached bath but others have common bathrooms. Complementary Breakfast is inclusive of the room rate. General security is sufficient with 24 hrs CCTV and security service for the car park. There is a cafe, barber, laundry, convenience store and children activity centre within the premise.

Casavilla, Kameleon and Kawana: Budget Accommodations In Puduraya Area

Hotels Casavilla, Kameleon and Kawana are budget hotels popular with tourists to KL. They are located in the vicinity of Hentian Puduraya, the KL bus terminus for buses from the Southern region such as Johore, Singapore (on certain services), Malacca and Negeri Sembilan.

Hotels Casavilla, Kameleon and Kawana are under the same management. The hotels however do not serve breakfast but there are several restaurants in the area with some operating 24/7. Everywhere to the city centre is within walking distance from the location of these hotels. Also they are just a short distance away to the Chinatown in Petaling Street.

Youth Hostel: Kuala Lumpur Youth Hostel

I'll start with the positive- super cheap. 100 ringgit for a 5 night stay. You won't find anything even close to that price anywhere. Thats roughly $25 USD for the entire week.

The negatives ok first of all very dirty, showers and toilets. Bring your own roll of toilet paper or buy one at the desk for 1 ringgit and carry it everywhere with you.

Another negative they close their doors at 12 midnight and don't open again until 7 am. That means you can't go in or out during that period of the night. That's right your stuck in the street if you get back too late.

Overall I rate this hostel very poorly. Judging by the attendance of the place I think many others did as well.

First World Hotel: Colourful!!

Situated in Genting Highland, the colorful hotel is err….look “kitsch” from the far, but it’s surprisingly quite conservative in their room decoration. The hotel is massive big, and it is designed for outgoing people who known that they will spend most of their time to enjoy what city can offer.
At the visit, there is no chance to explore different class of the rooms, it’s very packed and fully booked. At this time, the management is kindly let us people shared their room with additional of extra beds. The hotel is humble in standard class facility, but you can get everything in few steps of your room, so why bother?

Colorful from outside and very packed when you are inside (or maybe because we came in the busiest season??)

Park Inn International: 3 Star

The place is located around Bukit Bentang where the nightlife is around the corner, alive and busy. It's also 10 to 15 mintues walk from the KLCC area where the home of the Petronas Tower is. From the hotels room you can get to see the tower, just ak the hotel front desk to put you just across the tower and they will be happy to find you one! I'd noticed that most of the average travellers stay these place as it's convenient and much cheaper compare to the big and classy ones..though these hotel is much nicer to inns.

Ahh...I got to see the tower...Nice staff too! Problem is, the plane will almost leave us..because of the clerks writing the wrong time of the flight!

Simple hotel opposite Pudu Raya bus station: Katari Hotel

The most outstanding aspect of this accomodaton is the location - you step out the door and only have to cross the street to get to the large Pudu Raya bus station that brings you to any destination in Malaysia and even to Thailand and Singapore.
The hotel itself is basic but with attached bathroom, breakfast is included yet of medium quality.
if you arrive by bus and do not want to look around and walk anymore, this is the place to go, but there are in my opinion nicer options for also quite small money.
