Hi there,

Now anything is possible..if you are willing to compromise on cleanliness, poor room service and etc..am sure you can find very cheap budget hotels US 20 per night.Best bet in KL would be YMCA..as its rate are about RM 80.00 per night.
(www.ymcakl.com)However your other choices will be limited to mainly red light district area's in KL and in Melaka probably in the town area itself.
Hope above helps..if need more info do let me know..
Have a good holiday.
Kumar.

i stayed at a cheap hotel for 10 dollars last night and there are plenty of them around.
the place was so uneventful that i have forgotten the name of it allready, but it did give me a nights sleep for little money.

hi there

if u are looking for a hotel within the budget, go for Cititel Express that will cost u about RM 66 per room. its located at Tunku Abdul Rahman Road and near the monorel station that helps u to travel around kuala lumpur.

terima kasih

In Malacca, try the hotels near the Port (Jalan Plaza Mahkota 4 & 5): Mesra Mutiara Norhayati, Mansor or Hollitel(Rm 50-60). I've tried both Hollitel and Mutiara.

And, I think I counted five hostels near the Mahkota Hospital at Jalan Malaka Raya.

for KL stay in the golden triangle (Bukit Bintang) and find the st Jalan Tengkat Tong Shin. ask a local they will know.. there is a wide selection of hostels to choose from there but AVOID i2 inn... they are thiefs. every other place is safe and secure. i recommend Anjung hotel. they are friendly, the rooms are clean and its secure. now with amercan dollars $20 will probably transfer for around 60ish ringitt.. expect to pay $50 ringitt per night for your own room or around $25 ringitt for a shared dorm.

For Melaka find a hostel called 'travellers lodge' i think its down either jalan malaka raya 1, 2, or 3... again ask around and the locals should know. It is really really nice there. expect to pay $50 ringitt for your own room with an attached bathroom. and the rooms are huge with air con and windows. I really recommend that you at least Check out travellers lodge as when my misses and i were in melaka, we swore by it.

hope this helps

Cheers
