Centrally Located, Clean & Helpful Staffs

Through a VT local member (by the name is Chuck) he went through so much trouble finding us a hotel which was so perfect for our needs as well as within our budget. The hotel is clean, the people that works at the hotel is very helpful and very informative. Hotel is surrounded with reasonable restaurants which is open till as late as midnight on weekdays.

Unique Quality: We were happily surprized that our hotel accommodation included two touristic personal tour. We had a young man driving us to many touristic places, one of which we enjoyed which was the Batu Cave.

Mayview Glory Hotel - the best clean and cheap!

The best hotel in that area, next to Chinatown and Puduraya bus station.
We stayed for a week and were fully satisfied there!
Rooms are very clean and with a/conditioner, bathroom was nice and with hot water, friendly staff and the great view to Puduraya bus station from one side and KL Tower from the other!

Unique Quality: Lift, hot water, a/conditioner, clean rooms and bed sheets, nice overview from hotel, friendly staff and helpful!

A basic upmarket budget motel. Rooms were clean but no fridge or safe provided. Safe facilities were provided at the front desk. Two computers in the lobbly/lounge area provide cheap access. Printing was allowable. No pool but aircon's worked sufficiently.

Unique Quality: The staff!!!! They were friendly, courteous and always helpful. Just exceptional and a pleasure to talk with. The hotel doesn't appear much from the back but from the front is clean and respectable. Check out the new restuarant next door for a cheap and delicious meal.

cheap accomodation

by julielkeith

was wondering if someone can help with accomodation query. we are looking
Number Eight Guest House
Equator Hostel
The Haven Guest House
Rainforest bed and breakfast
Agora Hotel
Travellers Palm Homestay
and also looking at Mayview Glory Hotel
Can any one let us know which may be the best to stay in. Looking at being in close walking distance to things. Or maybe someone can recommend a better budget place.
Also Janlan Pudu Lama is this street close to the golden triangle.
Hoping some one can help with my queries. thanks in advance for any replies

Number eight guest house is near where I live and it seems very nice and clean with an outside are where I see a lot of people hanging out. It is also very central in the Bukit Bintang area, Golden Triangle

there is Genting Highland taxi operated from Puduraya Bus Station just 5 minutes walk from china town. im not sure about the charge nowadays, but its around MYR 70 per trip. there's also express bus to genting highland from there. and it might cost u around MYR 10 per person.

You should get a taxi for a whole day (9AM to 5 PM) for about RM200-250. Just ask a taxi driver to pick you from your hotel on the day you want to visit. This is what I did and it worked perfectly. Much more flexible and comfortable than bus.

I don't know if there is actually anything decent within this budget in the city. I never found it. The city is more expensive than Bangkok. Definitely avoid the Swiss Inn Kuala Lumpur - we were there last month and it is not nice -discount hotel webpages about it have misleading photos and it stinks.

Re: CHeap Accommodation in KL

Whoops sorry! I meant the **Swiss Hotel Kuala Lumpur**. There are several hotels in KL with "Swiss" in the name. I think this disappointing place is trying to piggyback on their reputations.

Re: CHeap Accommodation in KL

Just back from KL last week, we stayed at the Mayview Glory Hotel, yeah from the back you do wonder, but once you go up the side street to the front, the cleanliness hits. The rooms were basic, bed and tv with ensuite. Its located opp the major bus terminal but we didn't hear the buses. 250m walk to chinatown, 40m to a 7/11. Nothing flash but the staff were excellent and for $18 US p/p was cheap and good.

Hi guy, welcome to Kuala Lumpur. You can try out this leisurehome.worldpress.com.
The rooms are well air-conditioned and the location is not far from Kuala Lumpur city centre. Only 10-15minutes drive to the town centre. Price is also reasonable and affordable.

Travel Tips for Kuala Lumpur

Taxi

by Ewcia_AZ

It was funny when we got into taxi with I quess Muslim driver, and noticed many pieces of paper with rules- aims and conditions- when using THIS taxi. One of them was- no cium- means NO KISSES. Its offensive for many of Malaysian to kiss in public. We needed to follow that rule otherwise our driver would get upset!!
