Excellent Stay!

The room I stayed in this time was comfortable and cosy as usual. Very spacious rooms which were probably considered high class about 15 years ago. We stayed here on the 4th Floor. The staff smiled all the time and nothing was to much bother for them. We have stayed in 5 Star Hotels all over the world. But, nothing can compare to this hotel. The rooms are large and very luxurious, so are the bathrooms they have every facility that you can think of.

Unique Quality: Full of horse-themed items which I find amusing.

Horrible Hotel

Hotel Palace of the Golden Horses, Mines Kuala Lumpur, is a horrible,
horrible hotel. Many of their foreign workers hardly spoke any local language and
did not understand much English. The whole hotel is infested with
mosquitoes. It’s a rundown and badly maintained building. The Mines
Wonderland has already closed down for a year. There’s hardly anything to do.

When we checked in to our supposedly cleaned up suite, our daughter
took off her shoes and ran around the room. To my horror, I found a
pretty big needle on the floor carpet, along with used rubber bands,
cigarette butts and tissues! The 1st night of stay, there was loud
knocks on our room door at 2am! I woke up and was a little disturbed
by the continuing knocking. When I got to the door to peek through
the door hole, a man was seen walking away. Half hour later, the
knock was even louder. This time, my husband woke up and opened the
door. It was the wrong room for room service! Despite “Privacy Please” posted on the door. The 2nd night, it
happened again! This time another worker rang the doorbell at
midnight and when we opened the door, the worker was there to spray
insecticide!!!! It is unbelievable. When we complained to the duty
manager that very night, he apologetically mentioned that staff
playing internal pranks on each other could be one of the causes.....???!!!

And we paid RM690 a night for such horrible experience. We
complained to the management that this was totally unacceptable for a
supposedly 5 star ranking hotel. They (specifically, the General Mgr,
Diana Lee - daughter of owner) later came back to tell us they will
give us an upgrade on the grounds that we go back there again to stay
and pay for another 2 nights to get an upgrade on the 3rd night!!!
Wow, what clever, but cheap, lowdown tactic. Need we say more??
To think that they try to make us go back, pay for 2 more night to get a lousy "offer" is truly insulting and infuriating.

Palace of the Golden Horses

Fantastic stay. Managed to get myself a suite. Very enjoyable stay. Excellent services.
You get everything you need in one place. Only about 15 minutes ride to Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

Unique Quality: Almost all the rooms have a view of the lake that separated the Palace of the Golden Horses to the Mines Resort. There are special ferry rides that transport guests between the 2 places. There is a shopping mall in the Mines Resort and its own water theme park. The Palace has its own golf course so you can enjoy a relax holiday in the "palace" without ever a need to get out of the place.

Stay at Seri Kembangan

The last warm up match of ultimate winner Brazil World Cup 2002 was played here in Kuala Lumpur and the hotel the Brazilian stayed was this one. The match 0 Malaysia - Brazil 4. This location is quite far distance from the city centre, by taxi approximately 35 minutes without jams. There's a Mines Wonderland nearby for shopping and also a new Giant hypermarket.

A palace like hotel

The Palace of the Golden Horses hotel is actually located in seri kembanagn, selangor but close enough to KL - just off the KL-Seremban highway.

The hotel is located within Mines Resort City, a mix development on fomer tin mining land. In fact, the lake surrounding the hotel used to be the world's largest tin mining centre. This luxury 5-star hotel is the ultimate venue for both business and leisure guests and is about 25 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It is one of the so call Malaysia's Seven Wonders with the other being The Mines Beach Resort, The Mines Resort & Golf Club, The Mines Wonderland, The Mines Shopping Fair, The Mines Waterfront Business Park and The Malaysia International Exhibition and Showroom.

Unique Quality: Its architecture and palace like ambience.
