The Royal Bintang offered us the most comfortable accommodation with an interleading door between our bedrooms. We travelled with my brother and his wife. I will definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to friends and fellow travellers.
Unique Quality: The breakfasts were interesting and delicious. The view from our bedroom windows were magnificent.
The hotel is centrally located alongside huge shopping malls and many restaurants.
The hotel's Cafe Royal situated on the ground floor offers delicious cakes along with coffees and teas.
stayed there from 26th to 28th march 2010.
terrible service from the front desk people as i work in the hotel service industry.Ive heard good comments about the hotel before, dats why i wanted to stay there but was disappointed.
there was no sincere, personal touch from them.they seem like they were taking orders.
they did not end their conversation with ' is there anything else i can assist you with?'.
however the concierge people were thoughtful.they wore the malay traditional skirt "samping".felt their warmth and sincerity as we spoke.
Room is like 3 star.no nice view.
breakfast is GREAT! :)
overall, such a high price for the kind of service is truly soo not justifiable :(
Unique Quality: breakfast and concierge people is great!
When we arrived it was very early and the hotel was very good and organised a room for us. The room was excellent. It had all the feature you require plus a great view of the Petronas Towers and the Menara Tower. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were always helpful and the service could not be better. The breakfast chef who cooks the local dish Roti Canai is a real character and is worth talking to.
Unique Quality: The location of the hotel could not have been better. 2 minute walk to Jalan Alor (food street), 10 minute walk to the monorail, 5 minute walk to the shopping complexes. On top of all this, when it came time to sleep the hotel was lovely and quiet.
Directions: In the middle of the city
Hi. I have stayed at the Royal Bintang Hotel in Kuala Lumpur last September. It was great. It was lovely and quiet. I think it will be great for the children. We had two rooms with adjoining doors. The decor was very tasteful and very clean. The hallways on all floors are carpeted and very clean, Beige colour if I remember correctly. You won't be disappointed. The breakfast was really nice also. The pool was very quiet, an ideal place for the children. Didn't see anybody at the pool. A great view at night of the Petrona Towers. We paid about $70 AUS per night per room. Maybe they have a family rate and room. Hope this helps...
Have a great holiday...Cheers...Kerry
Used this hotel both here and in Petaling Jaya (PJ).
Very poor condition for my so called 'Deluxe' room with filthy carpets and serious mold problem in the bathroom ceiling. Front desk staff was even worst (down right arrogant) when I complaint about the condition. Stay one night only.
I would not recommend it to anyone.
If you want to stay at Royale Bintang hotel use the one in PJ. The Royale Bintang in PJ is a world apart from the KL version.
Directions: Within shopping district.
~3 mins walk to Sungai Wang/Bukit Bintang Shopping mall.
~2 mins walk to Low Yat plaza (all IT stuff)
~6 mins walk to Time Square Shopping mall
The stay was pleasant. We booked this hotel last minute... we were after a 5 star hotel in the area, but could not get a room. We wanted to be in this location, so we opted for 4 star instead.... and we were pleasantly surprised.
It's nice. Not a luxury hotel, but the room is big and clean. All the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. So it's not modern, nor glamorous..... but just basic. Good value for money staying in a nice place, in an awesome location.
I would recommend this hotel, as it's in a good location on Bukit Bintang (the main shopping street in KL). Especially good considering how cheap it is. Now I can't justify spending 3 times as much money for a 5 star hotel down the road.... this hotel certainly pleased me.
Twice previously while in KL (during Grand Prix), we have stayed in the Federal Hotel (next door). The Federal Hotel is slightly more expensive. I would certainly recommend The Royal Bintang Hotel in place of the Federal. The Royal Bintang is cheaper, but also the rooms are much nicer, and bigger! So if trying to decide between the 2, go for this one!!
Next time in KL will definitely consider staying here again, can't see any reason not too! Good location! Cheap $$! Nice!!
Directions: Right at the end corner of Bukit Bintang, but not a problem, as walking distance to all the shops and nightlife!! PERFECT location!!!
I stay in the Royale Bintang without fail if I am travelling on my own expense. Its conveniently located and yes, best of all, with its own private car park. Food and shopping is only a stone throw away. For that price, you can't ask for more. Moreover, the hotel has recently undergone renovation.
Upon arrival, the reception staff is not very friendly and the service is very very slow. And of course not very helpful. Everything we asked they said 'not sure'. Worst still, some couldn't speak English. So, don't expect too much. The room is fine. My stay there is quite a pleasant one (as it is quite near to most of the shopping places) except for the breakfast part.
As for the free breakfast buffet, I am very disappointed with their standard. On our first day, when we went to the coffee house to 'redeem' our free breakfast buffet, the waitress ushered us to another place where you walk through the 'dirty' exit corridor to a 'run-down' so-called ballroom. The seating layout there is Round Tables for 10 where you have to share the table with others. If you are in small group (i.e. 2) and happen to bump onto selfish people refusing to share with strangers for breakfast, Good Luck to you in finding seats. On the next day, we went to the same coffeehouse again for our breakfast and noticed some guests had their breakfast in the coffeehouse. So we decided to observe further. This is actually 'Double-standard' because we are all paying for our stay. We are so annoyed. So, on our last day there, we insist to have our breakfast at the Coffeehouse for our breakfast. According to the waitress, we have to wait for empty table first which we did. Queues started to be formed outside and the waitress claimed that the coffeehouse is full. Guess what? At least 4 tables were stacked with piles of dirty dishes which nobody bother to clear and for conveniences, just stack it there. Immediately, my point of view is the staff there would rather let the dirty dishes sits on the tables than to clear for their guests. As for the food, no big deal at all. Not much choices, average taste and the worst part is they are not very "on" in replenshing the food.
Remember, the next time if you stay there. Insist to have your breakfast at the coffeehouse because you paid for it.
Directions: Accessible to most of the shopping centre
Would definely not recommend this hotel to anyone. Arrived to be barely greeted at front desk and sent up to room. On arrival toilet was blocked, airconditioning did not work and safe broken. There were mould stains on carpet and we rang to say that we would like another room.
Moved to another room where tv did not work, light in bathroom not working and airconditioning marginal. Our slide key for the door worked once and then every time we came back to the room did not work. Each time we went down to reception with problems, there was no appology but just given a new swipe card.
Breakfast was part of the deal but we could not stomach it. Food was noticably a few days old and at one stage noticed the baked beans for breakfast had rotten beans in them. Asked for omelette to be made and egg was watered down to point where the omelette was flat and bland.
Were due to stay 3 days but moved out on the 2nd day and in process of getting a refund as our verbal complaints were treated with distain.
Unique Quality: Pool was nice
Directions: Situated in the "golden triangle" area of KL
If clean, neat and new is your game, this hotel is great for any shopping bug. Newly refurbished, the contemporary decor and new toilets made me smile.
Unique Quality: Great accessibility to BB Plaza, shopping malls, local hawkers and foot reflexology houses.
It is also a jog away from the Bus Terminal and Chinatown for a night snack.
It's one of the best spot for both of comfort seeker and shopsacholic. The hotel is pretty new when we stayed there. It is very clean and neat.
Unique Quality: What I love is:
-The hotel is next to the Curve (shopping mal)
-The hotel is opposite of IKEA
-It's walking distant to Fitness First and Cinema
-At the back of the hotel is The Walk, consisting of restaurants and coffee shops
It's definitely great!!
Other unique quality is the "security card" which only can function the elevator. You don't have a card...sorry, you can't go to other floor
Directions: Mutiara Damansara
We really didn't know what to expect from this hotel. It was a part of a very cheap package so we were prepared for the worst! To our pleasant surprise this hotel was actually really nice.
The rooms were spacious enough even with the king size bed and the view from our window was amazing, taking in both KL Tower and the Petronas Twin Towers. Bathroom was good with a real shower (not a bath/shower).
While I'm not a big breakfast eater, my wife seemed to enjoy hers. Staff seemed friendly and the lobby area was what you'd expect from a more expensive hotel.
The only negative was the hotel bar which had absolutely no atmosphere, not that that mattered as there are so many other places you can go for a drink!
The road this hotel is on is called Bukit Bintang and it's really amazing. It was lights, giant TV screens and cars galore and had a great vibe about it.
For food, walk straight across from the hotel to Jalan Alor. This street is crammed with great 'street restaurants' and the food is tasty and incredible value.
I can certainly recommend this hotel.
Unique Quality: This hotel is also perfectly located for some serious shopping at the numerous malls!
I have stayed in this hotel countless times. One of the reasons is because it is located along Jalan Bukit Bintang (KL Orchard Road). It is within walking distance to Jalan Petaling Street (KL Chinatown).
The service is reasonably good. You get to enjoy the facilities of a 4-star hotel. The rooms are spacious with cable TV and two complimentary bottles of drinking water and newspaper daily.
I will recommend this hotel because it is quite stylish and very comfortable.
Unique Quality: The car park is within the building, at the basement, unlike some nearby hotels like Federal and Capitol. They share car parks with Low Yat Plaza.
The hotel has facilities such as swimming pools, jacuzzi, fitness centre, bar, spa and restaurant. Some of the rooms view are great. You can see Petronas Twin Towers, KL tower and KL city from your room.
You can do online booking without having to give your credit card details but you must check-in before 4pm on the day of your arrival.
Directions: Located at the south end of Jalan Bukit Bintang, the Orchard Road of Kuala Lumpur.
This 4 star hotel was formerly known as Novotel Century Kuala Lumpur Hotel before re-branded to its current name. Whatever name it is called, you can be sure of its good services and strategic location in KL's Bukit Bintang area. It is within walking distance to major shopping complexes (Low Yat Plaza, Berjaya Times Square KL, Sungai Wang Plaza, BB PLaza, Lot 10, KL Plaza and Starhill) as well as dining and entertainment hub (Planet Hollywood, cafes/restaurants/hawker delicacies at Bintang Walk, Jalan Alor and Changkat Bukit Bintang). With two monorail stations in its vicinity (Imbi and Bukit Bintang stations), it is well connected to other places of interest in KL as well.
Unique Quality: Conveniently located.
Directions: At the end of Jalan Bukit Bintang, KL.
Which one is located on best location & provide good service.
