stayed there from 26th to 28th march 2010.
terrible service from the front desk people as i work in the hotel service industry.Ive heard good comments about the hotel before,dats why i wanted to stay there but was disappointed.
there was no sincere, personal touch from them.they seem like they were taking orders.
they did not end their conversation with ' is there anything else i can assist you with?'.

however the concierge people were thoughtful.they wore the malay traditional skirt "samping".felt their warmth and sincerity as we spoke.

Room is like 3 star.no nice view.

breakfast is GREAT! :)

overall, such a high price for the kind of service is truly soo not justifiable :(

Hotel in the centre

When we arrived it was very early and the hotel was very good and organised a room for us. The room was excellent. It had all the feature you require plus a great view of the Petronas Towers and the Menara Tower. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were always helpful and the service could not be better. The breakfast chef who cooks the local dish Roti Canai is a real character and is worth talking to.

Unique Quality: The location of the hotel could not have been better. 2 minute walk to Jalan Alor (food street), 10 minute walk to the monorail, 5 minute walk to the shopping complexes. On top of all this, when it came time to sleep the hotel was lovely and quiet.

Very clean, quiet hotel, good location.

Hi. I have stayed at the Royal Bintang Hotel in Kuala Lumpur last September. It was great. It was lovely and quiet. I think it will be great for the children. We had two rooms with adjoining doors. The decor was very tasteful and very clean. The hallways on all floors are carpeted and very clean, Beige colour if I remember correctly. You won't be disappointed. The breakfast was really nice also. The pool was very quiet, an ideal place for the children. Didn't see anybody at the pool. A great view at night of the Petrona Towers. We paid about $70 AUS per night per room. Maybe they have a family rate and room. Hope this helps...

In need of an upgrading..

Used this hotel both here and in Petaling Jaya (PJ).
Very poor condition for my so called 'Deluxe' room with filthy carpets and serious mold problem in the bathroom ceiling. Front desk staff was even worst (down right arrogant) when I complaint about the condition. Stay one night only.

I would not recommend it to anyone.
If you want to stay at Royale Bintang hotel use the one in PJ. The Royale Bintang in PJ is a world apart from the KL version.

Decent Enough Hotel

The stay was pleasant. We booked this hotel last minute... we were after a 5 star hotel in the area, but could not get a room. We wanted to be in this location, so we opted for 4 star instead.... and we were pleasantly surprised.

It's nice. Not a luxury hotel, but the room is big and clean. All the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. So it's not modern, nor glamorous..... but just basic. Good value for money staying in a nice place, in an awesome location.

I would recommend this hotel, as it's in a good location on Bukit Bintang (the main shopping street in KL). Especially good considering how cheap it is. Now I can't justify spending 3 times as much money for a 5 star hotel down the road.... this hotel certainly pleased me.

Twice previously while in KL (during Grand Prix), we have stayed in the Federal Hotel (next door). The Federal Hotel is slightly more expensive. I would certainly recommend The Royal Bintang Hotel in place of the Federal. The Royal Bintang is cheaper, but also the rooms are much nicer, and bigger! So if trying to decide between the 2, go for this one!!

Next time in KL will definitely consider staying here again, can't see any reason not too! Good location! Cheap $$! Nice!!

Value for $

I stay in the Royale Bintang without fail if I am travelling on my own expense. Its conveniently located and yes, best of all, with its own private car park. Food and shopping is only a stone throw away. For that price, you can't ask for more. Moreover, the hotel has recently undergone renovation.
