hi ademsmith...

the vt dinner is open to all vters and his guests, both locals and visitors... it is an informal dinner where vters and guests get together for food and fellowship... like the rotary club weekly meetings, you only pay for your own food... we look forward to welcoming you to the dinner... as a first step and for catering purposes, just sign up at http://meetings.virtualtourist.com/1/meeting-5498-1-0-3-Asia-1289908216789-1321444216789-meeting.html?wosid=OS7H9qnFOzJStfWMrm2Abw ... regards...

Climate

Malaysia straddles the equator, so the climate is warm and humid year-round. Avoid monsoon season (October through February) but expect rain anytime. Flooded city roads are common from November to January when the heaviest rains occur.

Visit Merdeka Square. The square boasts of the tallest flagpole in the world. We are celebrating our Independent day every year here. Across the road you will see a beautiful and historical's building - Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This majestic building is the High Court of Kuala Lumpur. Take a walk along the road of Merdeka Square on Saturday night. There is night market there!

Chinatown

by l_joo

This tip is for tourists to see so that they have a rough idea what is the dress code in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Most tourists like to have these dress up as our tropical sunlight is too strong in all 365 days. We don't have winter, no autumn and no spring. This kind of climate is called tropical climate which is very hot, except rainy days.

Malay greeting

by Manyana

instead of hand shaking or kissing on cheek (like in saudi), it's to smell your guests' cheeks.
Back to my Malay relatives, I remember when my opah (=grandma) used to smell me when i was a smelly kid.
To me, it's so beautiful greeting.
This is common among Malay ethnics.
