Bit disappointed

I am not sure if I would recommend this hotel. The traffic to get there was terrible. The lobby of the hotel was fine, presentable... check in process was quite fast. The disappointment started as soon as I walked out of the lift on our way to the room. The carpet on the hallway looks dirty. The rooms were not as grand as they looked in the photos, curtains even had cigarette burns. I actually ended up checking in (paid for 7 days) but not staying :(

Good Value for Money Centrally located

It was our first stay at Swiss Garden Hotel. Although, in comparison to other buildings and hotels the outer appearance was average, the overall stay was a good value for money. We paid 1340 MYR for 5 nights with breakfast. The best thing about the hotel was its very very close proximity to Pudu Raya Bus Station. That is the bus station from where you can take a bus to any city outside KL. Not far off was the light rail system (Berjaya Square) that you can use to travel inside KL. The hotel is in the middle of a commercial area. For us it was great because we were visiting central parts of KL. However, if u want a serene neighborhood, it does not have it. The pool was not so big. We preferred the front side view from the rooms. Also if you are a muslim you might not find muslim shower in bathrooms on 4th floor but they are there on other floors. For instance, we stayed at 4th, 13th and 15th floor. So it was there on the rest. Security wise its a very good hotel. They ask outsiders to get themselves registered if they intend to stay in hotel after 11pm. Not a massive hotel. Cosy and comfortable. Courtious staff.

Unique Quality: Very close to the hotel is a big market for electronic and computer items. If you like to browse for cameras, computers and accessories, mobile phones and similar items visit this place. Also close by is Jalan Alor which has alot of food places.

In town luxury

I have never been called Sir so many times in my life.
The staff were excellent as was the food and I just loved the Samsara Balinese Spa.
The pool was small but refreashing and there is a pool bar too.

Unique Quality: Rooms are big and very comfortable and the higher floors have a great view of the city.
The restaurant downstairs has a great buffet breakfast and you can walk from here to the Bintang Walk for shopping.

Below Expectations

The hotel destination is good. Basically that’s the only good thing about it.
I was disappointed at that hotel.
Rooms are too small and not good enough to be called "deluxe" rooms.
I stayed in a room where the AC was ticking all the time unless it was set on 15 degrees or less! Room view (back) was horrible, and when I asked to change the room I was told it’s not possible.
I was really shocked at the size of what they call a "swimming pool" which was a little bigger than a bath tub!
Room service got us our order 1 hour later as they did not make sure they had the right room number.
Restaurant is too small for the number of guests. We always had to wait for so long to take our breakfast or take it in the banquet room which does not have variety of food.
The hotel claims it provides shuttle buss service to “the major shopping areas around KL”, truth is they provide 1 bus in the afternoon to the Twin Towers and another in the evening to China Town… that’s all!!
Last but not least, when we asked the concierge to reconfirm the flight tickets for us, we were charged! As far as I know, as I am in hotel business, this is a free service in any respectable hotel!
This hotel should be rated 3 stars

Unique Quality: Destination is good and its clean hotel.

Not Good!

Not recommended if you want a real 4 stars hotel.

The hotel would not pass for 4 stars at all.

Unique Quality: Location is basicly the best thing about it. Thank God, the rooms were clean.

KL class hotel

Lovely hotel within walking distance of metro stations and other transport connections. Staff very friendly and informative. They were able to offer advice on a number of issues such as routes to attractions and local amenities. Booking in was a dream even though we arrived a couple of hours early and definitely looked like a group of down at heel backpackers. No snobbery they made us feel very welcome, warning though, we obtained very good rates on the net and assumed that this was a little three star (ish) hotel it isn't and we were clearly underdressed for the occassion. Just a word of warning although to be fair it didn't cause the staff at the hotel any probs. After a shower and a vrush up we were able to blend in with the rest of the guests, more or less. Didn't eat on the premises although there was a very pleasant looking chinese restaurant in the hotel. Also had a piano bar with live music (not noisy more background music).

Unique Quality: Swimming pool and gymnasium very small and would be the only downside for a hotel of this size. While we were there four of us used the facilities and believe me that was the max for both the poll and gymn. Maybe you'll be able to answer a question which I was left with, why a hotel in KL has a sauna. More interestingly people seem to use it on a regular basis. I started to sweat just thinking about it.

Good place to stay

Stay there 4 nights in Dec 05.
The location is great and the rooms are ok and are quite large.
This is a 4* hotel.
The breakfast is ok but it is as busy as a car making plant. Sometime people have to queue to get the food.
Safe inside the room
Paid RM 182 for double including tax and breakfast via www. asiatravel.com

Great location

This hotel was in a great location, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating.

The concierge was always ready to help us and made dining reservations for us. Also, ask him how much taxi's should cost to certain areas... or you might just get ripped off. He actually came out and told a taxi driver what we were willing to pay.

Unique Quality: We were there in early February... if you're giong to the pool, be warned that the sun has left the area by 1.15pm!!! So take full advantage early on!!!

one of KL`s best hotels

I stayed at the swiss garden hotel last summer during my trip to malaysia and to say the least it was a magnificent experience. The rates are really low considering the standard of the hotel and if you book well in advance via internet its even cheaper. normal rates are 20-30 $US for single rooms. I would really recommend this hotel to people who wanna visit KL. The only slightly negative part abt staying at this hotel could be the hustle bustle caused by loads of guests but for me it was fun as you get to meet lots of new people.

Unique Quality: The hotel has a nice gym, a pool, blue chip lounge with a bar and they have internet service as well and you can pay a few extra dollars to get yourself a 24 hr connection in your room.

Great Location

Hotel was great.
Have to get express train from airport into KL and then 2 really short train rides.
Great location, about 5 mins from all the main places.
Good hotel although both times I checked in they said the room wasn't ready for 1 hour (checked in at 4.30pm and 6pm) and gave me a voucher to have fruit punch in the bar, saw they did that with everyone though so don't know if it's their way of making you spend money in the bar.

Rooms were great, check their special deals as well. Got one double room only for RM 160 which worked out about £20 per room.

Their buffet is great especially for breakfast as for westerners if you don't fancy all the hot and spicy stuff first thing in the morning you can get cereal, fruit, pancakes, eggs, toast etc....

We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel while we travelled to Tioman for a few days
