It was a pleasant experience staying in Swiss Garden Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The rooms are spacious with good facilities and services provided by the friendly staff.

What I like most about Swiss-Garden Hotel Kuala Lumpur is its convenient location between Bukit Bintang/Jalan Alor eateries area and Puduraya bus terminal/Chinatown, all are within walking distance from the hotel. For travelling to other places around the city, taxis and buses are easily available from Jalan Pudu. Additionally, the KL Monorail and Starline LRT's Hang Tuah stations are also within walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel itself is superb with all the facilities expected out of a four star hotel in it class (restaurant, business centre, gym, swimming pool etc). On top of that, it is also one of the few hotel in KL with its in house spa facility (Samsara Spa). .

  • 3 nights stay. arrived here at 10pm thinking that everything is far away from all the tales í've heard on the net.

it's actually on a main road jalan pudu and only 3 minutes walk from jalan Alor--the famous night street for food. this is also right next to bikit bitang, the tourist shopping district. a great location, far enough away from the noise.... close enough to walk to it =)

i got hotelmalaysia.com's early bird special which was only RM110 for a duluxe room with breakfast.... what a bargain!!! i got a very nice, clean and spacious room with a great buffer breakfast!!

Swiss Garden is typical for a city hotel but very elegant and formal. the swimming is quite small but the qym was good.

the standout espect was the staff.... extremely friendly and helpful..

  • We were surprised to find such a modern and nearly luxurious hotel for that little money, and still very centrally located. The staff was friendly and the rooms clean and well-furnished.
We did not book the breakfast, as it is impossible to starve in KL, there are that many cheap opportunities to get a nice breakfast so that is is not necessary to book a room with included breakfast.

A fitness center is available as well as a small outdoor pool with a nice sundeck. The hotel lobby is extremely elegant and you will be offered a welcome drink upon arrival.
It's only a short walk from the Pudu Raya bus station as well as to the many shopping centres and Chinatown.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and it was nice. The room was on the small side but it was tastefully decorated, all inside the room worked really well. The bathroom was rather big, with a rather large bathtub and high shower head, perfect for a tall person like me. The hallways, corridors, and lobby was nice, clean, and well-maintained. When we stayed there, they were doing some work on several of the guest room hallways, so you could look forward to an even nicer hallways :) There's also a pool where you can dip yourself and escape from the KL heat.

The hotel location is perfect for tourists. It's sandwiched between Bukit Bintang and Chinatown. Walk 10 mins to get to Bukit Bintang shopping district and 15 mins to get to Chinatown (although you have to navigate the dizzying traffic near Pudu Raya bus station). To Petronas, about 10-15 mins by taxi, from KLIA about 1 hour drive.

One major drawback though, the hotel was full of tourists that breakfast was relegated to one of the meeting rooms, since the coffee shop was too small. The food for breakfast was OK, but nothing to write home about.

All in all, Swiss Garden provided good value for money. It's location is perfect and it offers the usual four-star standards that you'd expect from a hotel in that class. I'd definitely would stay here again.

Great location! This hotel is sandwiched between Bukit Bintang Shopping District and Chinatown!

  • I am not sure if I would recommend this hotel. The traffic to get there was terrible. The lobby of the hotel was fine, presentable... check in process was quite fast. The disappointment started as soon as I walked out of the lift on our way to the room. The carpet on the hallway looks dirty. The rooms were not as grand as they looked in the photos, curtains even had cigarette burns. I actually ended up checking in (paid for 7 days) but not staying :(

Swiss Garden Hotel: Good Value for Money Centrally located    Check Rates

  • It was our first stay at Swiss Garden Hotel. Although, in comparison to other buildings and hotels the outer appearance was average, the overall stay was a good value for money. We paid 1340 MYR for 5 nights with breakfast. The best thing about the hotel was its very very close proximity to Pudu Raya Bus Station. That is the bus station from where you can take a bus to any city outside KL. Not far off was the light rail system (Berjaya Square) that you can use to travel inside KL. The hotel is in the middle of a commercial area. For us it was great because we were visiting central parts of KL. However, if u want a serene neighborhood, it does not have it. The pool was not so big. We preferred the front side view from the rooms. Also if you are a muslim you might not find muslim shower in bathrooms on 4th floor but they are there on other floors. For instance, we stayed at 4th, 13th and 15th floor. So it was there on the rest. Security wise its a very good hotel. They ask outsiders to get themselves registered if they intend to stay in hotel after 11pm. Not a massive hotel. Cosy and comfortable. Courtious staff.

Very close to the hotel is a big market for electronic and computer items. If you like to browse for cameras, computers and accessories, mobile phones and similar items visit this place. Also close by is Jalan Alor which has alot of food places.

  • Hotel was great.
Have to get express train from airport into KL and then 2 really short train rides.
Great location, about 5 mins from all the main places.
Good hotel although both times I checked in they said the room wasn't ready for 1 hour (checked in at 4.30pm and 6pm) and gave me a voucher to have fruit punch in the bar, saw they did that with everyone though so don't know if it's their way of making you spend money in the bar.

Rooms were great, check their special deals as well. Got one double room only for RM 160 which worked out about £20 per room.

Their buffet is great especially for breakfast as for westerners if you don't fancy all the hot and spicy stuff first thing in the morning you can get cereal, fruit, pancakes, eggs, toast etc....

We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel while we travelled to Tioman for a few days

Outdoor pool is good to relax beside when you are having a quiet day

  • The hotel destination is good. Basically that’s the only good thing about it.
I was disappointed at that hotel.
Rooms are too small and not good enough to be called "deluxe" rooms.
I stayed in a room where the AC was ticking all the time unless it was set on 15 degrees or less! Room view (back) was horrible, and when I asked to change the room I was told it’s not possible.
I was really shocked at the size of what they call a "swimming pool" which was a little bigger than a bath tub!
Room service got us our order 1 hour later as they did not make sure they had the right room number.
Restaurant is too small for the number of guests. We always had to wait for so long to take our breakfast or take it in the banquet room which does not have variety of food.
The hotel claims it provides shuttle buss service to “the major shopping areas around KL”, truth is they provide 1 bus in the afternoon to the Twin Towers and another in the evening to China Town… that’s all!!
Last but not least, when we asked the concierge to reconfirm the flight tickets for us, we were charged! As far as I know, as I am in hotel business, this is a free service in any respectable hotel!
This hotel should be rated 3 stars

Destination is good and its clean hotel.

  • I stayed at the swiss garden hotel last summer during my trip to malaysia and to say the least it was a magnificent experience. The rates are really low considering the standard of the hotel and if you book well in advance via internet its even cheaper. normal rates are 20-30 $US for single rooms. I would really recommend this hotel to people who wanna visit KL. The only slightly negative part abt staying at this hotel could be the hustle bustle caused by loads of guests but for me it was fun as you get to meet lots of new people.

The hotel has a nice gym, a pool, blue chip lounge with a bar and they have internet service as well and you can pay a few extra dollars to get yourself a 24 hr connection in your room.
