a BRILLIANT little paradise in Chinatown

We was there for almost 2 weeks, and had a pleasant stay! The food is good (could had been more to choose from, though), service is EXCELLENT, very friendly staff. The facilities is kept clean at all time by a very hard-working cleaner lady. It is normal toilets, not just a hole in the floor, and the showers are good.

We will DEFINITELY stay here when we return again.

PS: This is a perfect place for backpackers and those on a low budget wich want the "little extra" for less

Unique Quality: Wheelers is a very clean, tidy and friendly hostel. It's located in Chinatown KL just 10 mins walk from the bus station, across the street from the fabuolous "Reagge bar" wich is by the main street in Chinatown.
It's close to monorail station, and you can reach both lines (the two monorail lines in KL meets in this area) within only a 8-10 mins walk. You can go out in the evening and meet up with the locals in the Mee Goreng-shops. Always fun ending up drinking beer with them.

Some of Wheelers services & facilities:

-Bed linen
-Hot & cold shower
-Cold beer
-Security locker
-Tours and bus tickets
-Laundry
-Left luggage
-Internet access
-Roof top terrace
-Air conditioned luonge with (a small) TV
-Choose your own movie
-Book exchange

This place is PANTS....

We stayed here for around 45 Ringetts for a room that had a private bathroom and AC. The guy in reception was extremly rude when I asked for a discount (which he gave me anyway). Anyway this is a back packer joint so I can forgo certain luxuries as long as the place it clean but alas it wasn't and when to our horror we saw giant cockroaches coming out of a hole in the wall I knew I couldn't stay any longer.

Considering we had been in SE Asia for 4 months, camped and treked in the jungle, sayed in log cabins never had I had to pay 45 Ringetts to share my room with giant man eating cockroaches. YUK. I was up at 6am, by 6.30am I was packed and out of there to find somewhere decent!

We did however go to a sister hotel the Travellers lodge to book some bus&boat tickets to get to the Perhinthians and it seemed much nicer and the staff there were very freindly so I guess it might just have been a one off.

Wheelers Guest House

I paid RM10 (about US $3) for a clean dorm bed (room with 4 beds), squeaky clean shared bath, a/c.

According to the blurb, they also have:
non-a/c single, double(RM25), Triple(RM30)
a/c singles, double (RM40) with common showers.
a/c with private hot shower(RM55)
a/c with private hot shower and toilet (RM60-70).
weekly rate available.

Unique Quality: New (summer 2000), clean, cheap, helpful management, dorms. When I was there, they hadn't yet gotten email, but you can email from Backpackers across the street.
