Giraavaru resort

Holidays at Giravaru Resort are unforgetable experience of my life. It is a four star resort and the distance from airport is just seven miles (11.3 KM)but transportation is through Dhoni (45 minutes from airport) or speed boat (15 minutes from airport).

Giraavaru combines good diving with a good beach and it's an attractive hotel. There are approximately 20 dive sites accessible. Some of them are between the most famous dive sites among experienced scuba divers of the world. The dive school in Giraavaru is operated by Jutta and Giovanni and is called PLANETA DIVERS. The dive school offers PADI training and certification.

The rooms were luxurious with all modern facilities. You would really enjoy the sound of waves all the time is such a lovely place. They have total 65 deluxe rooms. 12 rooms are in a two-storey block while the others are connected together in rows. Though they are not large but they are good looking and the facilities are impressive. Some of facilities available are hot and cold water, lovely bath rooms, personal safe, satellite television, piped-in music, air conditioners, international direct dial phone, hair dryer, fan and mini-Bar in every room. All major credit cards are accepted.

Single room rates on bed and breakfast basis these days are $130 per person, plus $75 transportation charges by speed boat. But i was given very special package being Pakistani. Maldivian people greatly respect Pakistan so every where i was given very special treatment. I was offered special per night charges of $100 on half board basis i.e breakfast and dinner included. For transportation i was given choice to pay either $50 for Dhoni or $75 for speed boat.

The main restaurant provides a wide variety of buffets. The coffee shop, built over the water, is a la carte serving snacks and every kind of drink throughout the day. Dolphins sometimes swim by adding more colors to your holiday. Two well stocked bars, disco, kareoke bar, swimming pool, diving and windsurfing school, conference hall, childcare service, first aid unit, Internet access, laundry service, message parlour and souvenir shops are few of facilities available at this resort.

Sports facilities include fishing, billiards, canoeing, sailing, jet ski, night diving, night fishing, scuba diving, snooker, snorkeling,
surfing, water skiing, windsurfing, tennis courts, table tennis and volley ball. Apart from that island hopping and excursions are also arranged for guests.
