Khovd Outskirts along the river: Camping in the Ger District

The best place to pitch tent in Khove is over by the river near all the other gers. Although it may feel a bit akward just going into that area and setting up your tents, it will be an awesome experience, as the curious Kazakh people living in the gers surrounding you come to see whats up. You cant miss this place, its right past Khovd "city" (past meaning just west of) across the bridge and past the police post. You will see a river, some green mountains and tons of gers all over the place, you really cannot miss it. Just find an open spot thats clean and set up camp. We had some dombras (Kazakh guitars) and frsibees and played with a lot of the local Kazakh people who came to see who we were. It was a lot of fun, just be ware of the mosquitos, and as always watch your belongings. Its free to camp here.
