Chinggis Khaan Hotel

Very good high end hotel. Modern, recently built. Very good service. We went there with very low expectations and were positively surprised. One night we flew in from China at midnight and by 1am we discovered that the shower in our room was not working. Guess what? A plumber came in and fixed it within 10 minutes from us informing the receptionist!
Mongolians are very strong with fixing things. They have tools and fix broken cars, bathroom showers etc. As it is very diffucult for them to buy new parts or things, they have developed this high propensity to fix everything old and they are good at it.

Unique Quality: - It has a very expensive (expect to pay European prices) Chinese restaurant on the ground floor.
- The hotel is connected on the back with a luxury department store and shopping center. So you can buy anything there. From food to umbrellas to clothes to works of art without leaving the hotel. This is very good for last minute shopping and it is open until 10 or 11 pm I think.
- There is a small shop with cashmere clothes inside the hotel, which has very good quality and cheap prices (though a limited range), compared to the state department store downtown.
- The hotel has a bar or club which seemed to be very popular with Mongolians on Saturday night. They were coming and going until the small hours of the morning and they ended up having a fist fight in front of the hotel as well.
