Zaya hotel

I have discovered in LP Mongolia Zaya hostel. Itis very clean, quiet, comfortable, famous place. Reasonable rate. Modern bathrooms. Bedrooms have hard-wood floors, new furnishings and fresh linen. The management prefers semi-long-term residents so you are sure to meet an interesting crowd of people here. Zaya speaks English, Russian and Chinese and her assistance gets high marks from travellers.
Zaya is very helpful and also provide other travel-related services. These include picking up or seeing you off from the train station or airport, helping you with documentation and visa issues, booking or purchasing your air or train tickets. Moreover, She arranging tours to the main attractions of Mongolia and support you with finding relaible guides, drivers and renting cars.
Free wireless internet. It is worth place in UB. I am not sure, but think it is zaya's page: zayahostel.com

This is more like it.

To be official, I didn't actually stay here. But when I return to Mongolia, this is going to be my digs. The location is somewhat bogus in that it is about 20km outside city center, but allegedly there is a shuttle bus that can take you in to town. I imagine it is fairly simple to get a taxi to and from when the shuttle isn't running.

This hotel was worth it to just stop by and have a look. Although they tried charging us 1,000 Tugriks just to walk the grounds, we decided we were cheap pricks instead and took pictures from afar.

Unique Quality: You can stay in just about any type of accomodation: a traditional yurt, standard western-style hotel rooms, and presidential suites. You can do anything from hiking to sheepgazing to cowtipping to beach volleyball (don't knock the man-made beach by the Tuul River until you've been!)

MUST SEE!

I actually didn't stay here. It's located about 30 km to the east of the city......and I would highly recommend it as a place to launch to your trip to Ger camps.....or at least to visit for dinner and drinks. Absolutely gorgeous and set in a pretty and upscale area, Hotel Mongolia is a recommended place to stay and an Absolute Must See just for a visit.

It also sits just off a river (can't remember its name)......there is an open field area that concerts are held.....when a big name band goes to Mongolia, this is where they play.

Also, all the dogs are very friendly and totally cool to spend some quality belly rub time.

Q: Going to Mongolia "We've always wanted to go to Mongolia, and Ulaanbaatar, during Ulaanbaatar's Naadam festival. The airfares, however, during that..."

A: "August 15th is the Gobi Nadaam Festival held at Khongor sand dunes in the southern Gobi desert. It's a much smaller (thus less touristy) affair."
