Please Any Travel Companion Visiting Gobi during June/July 2010?

by drache777

Hello Guys

I have booked a tour exploring south of Gobi for the first time from 30th June to 6th July inclusive and wondering if any travel companion(s) would like to join me going together.

Places I have planned to see:
-the Baga Gazriin Chuluu-Rock formations
-Yoliin Am-Vulture Gorge
-Khongor Sand Dunes
-Bayan Zag-Flaming Cliffs
-Ongi Monastery Ruins and
-Khara Khorum-The Ancient Capital where the Erdene Zuu Monastery is located

Duration: 7Days6Nights

What will be arranged:
All meals in the countryside, 4wd transportations, guiding, ger camp accommodation for 6 nights, national Park entrance fee & airport pick up

Reason For Posting the Question:
Traveling Alone will be lonely as you cant share anything with someone and nobody to talk to ....!! Also going together will lower the costs per person by around USD200 for the whole trip ;))

P.S. you need to arrange your own international transportation to and from your home ;)

Many thanks for your time in reading and hope to hear from you soon
Happy Travel in Mongolia Everybody ;-)

Cheers
Lung

Hi,

I will go to UB on 21/7/2010 with my friend and stay there about 8 days. Your package is atractive. Can you let me know more details about your trip and send me an email to my mail box. Thanks.

Travel Tips for Ulaanbaatar

City of Ulaanbaatar

by victorwkf

You need to have an open mind and keep to the basics when you are in Ulaanbaatar. Things here are old, runned-down, simple and slow, so do not expect too much in terms of modern day comforts. However, the people are friendly and the city will offer you an insight into a place where poverity is still a big part of everyday life.

Shaman center

by yumyum

On the street leading to Gandan monastery there is a ger (yurt) including a Shaman special place. This is called "Center of Shaman eternal heavenly sophistication". I must admit I didn't go inside to check it out.

Manzshir, museum

by sachara

Near the Manzshir Monastery is a museum.
In the museum we saw requisite animal trophies like the skins of snowleopards. Interesting are the old photos of the monastery before it turned into ruins.
Near the museum we could also visit a traditional ger and try the traditional Mongolian dress. It gave a lot of fun. The main garment is the del, a long, one-piece gown made from wool. The high collared dels are beautifully coloured. The del is worn by men and women. Men wear often the Mongolian hat, the loovuz.

Ristorante Pizza della Casa

by yumyum

Although I cannot really remember it, I'm sure I ate a pizza here. Don't expect pizza like in Italy as there is no mozzarella cheese available here. It's ok to eat here but it isn't anything overwhelming but makes a nice change from the local fare like mutton dumplings.

Gandan monastery

by tuul

During Soviet Era many Mongolian monasteries were ruined, valuable items stolen and Lamas captured. Gandan monastery in the center of Ulaanbaatar will be an interesting place for those who want to have better insight in religion and customs of Mongolians.

A: "August 15th is the Gobi Nadaam Festival held at Khongor sand dunes in the southern Gobi desert. It's a much smaller (thus less touristy) affair."
