In a relaxed area but not far from Durbar Square
As soon as you arrive to the hotel you are welcome by several people saying "Namaste". The check-in was done personally by the duty manager (a nice Nepali girl dressed with traditional clothes). The room i booked was a "deluxe" one. The room was below the standards compared to the "deluxe" rooms in other Crowne Plaza, but it seems they are going under a process of renovation in the hotel. There are several restaurants in the hotel area, but none of them is Nepali (Italian, Chinese, Indian). There is an small gym for doing some workouts and an spa area with sauna and steam bath. Massages are offered as well. In the hotel area there is a casino, but don´t expect to find an small Las Vegas there... there are just some slot machines, and a couple of tables for black jack and roulette. A couple of travel agencies can be found in the hotel. In one of them is where I booked the mountain flight.
Unique Quality: It is located in a very quiet and relaxed area that is just 15 minutes walking distance from Durbar Square.

Nepal's finest
Hotel Soaltee is the name that comes to the mind of an average nepali when one is talking about a five star hotel. It is probabley the first hotel of its kind in Nepal and till date has lived upto its expectations.
If you are one for having business conference or for holding seminars for your dealers, then Nepal and especially Hotel Soaltee is the place for you.
I live and work in Kathmandu, Nepal and whenever my company has a dinner party or a conference, we prefer to have it in Soaltee. As one of the largest corporate houses of the country, we've tried all the other facilities in Nepal and without any biasness to others, we rank this as the best in Nepal.
