Ok budget place with a very central location.
Potala Guest House is a fairly ok older Guest House that is located right in the center of the Thamel district.
You can clearly see that this is a place that has been there for many years and that it used to be a bit of an upscale place that has now fallen a bit apart.
I like these kinda places though as they have a soul but are still cheap because they have not been renovated for a long time.
The lobby and the common areas are still a little stylish, but the rooms are quite simple, but they have a bed and a bathroom and that is what i am looking for.
I am what i guess you can call a luxuxry backpacker who likes to have my own room with bathroom, but still likes a cheaper place and the good travel atmosphere you have in these places.
The Guest House also has free wifi both in the rooms and in the lobby.
That is when it´s working though as they had many powercuts when i was there, but that is the case all over Kathmandu so they are not to blame for this.
I paid 10 US dollars oer night there for an economy single and for that price the place is certainly worth it´s money.
