Pretty decent 3 star
A little worn out lobby.Very helpful and friendly hotel staff.Good breakfast.The rooms were pretty decent.Overall-probably one of the best hotels in Thamel,a little more than your average 3 star.We got a late checkout and were pretty happy with our hotel
Unique Quality: Amazing location.There pool was bad,but in all fairness one wouldn't want to swim with so much to do around.Beautiful receptionists :D

Good location but can be improved
We stayed in the said hotel in November,2010. I was impressed with the location as its in the heart of Thamel which is the tourist hub. The rooms were damp with cigratte smell and the flush did not work properly at all. The hotel is good for singles or people who are going for the Everest Trek. The staff was fine but I was dissappointed by the hotel. Besides the location the Hotel is not really great. The windows are also dirtied by the Pigeons. The biggest problem is the electricity as there is load shedding for almost 10 hours and the generator backup in the hotel is not great. Its sad that such great location and great property is wasted due to the management's inefficiencies.

Simple and budget hotel
We did stay for 2 nites here. The hotel over all are ok..Ther reason we choose this hotel is bcoz of the location..located at Thamel area n convinience for us to travel around due to our short trip.

Arrogance in Thamel
I came and tried to find out their rates and services for upcoming travels and meetings for myself and other regulars. There was no info to be had apart from a small brochure, absolutely no willingness to show the rooms or talk any more to us. Were we improperly dressed? We felt they were arrogant and turning us back. They may be well fed on package visitors and tour groups so they may not be looking for individual travellers. Sorry to say, because it looks impressive there among the shabby hippyish Thamel shops and commercial and human misfits. If you do get a foot in the door or have a package tour that thakes your through their door, check the info below; I trust their offers and standards generally are quite allright.

Vaishali 4 Star - Is really a Joke
Actually I did not have much choice to change this hotel as it was part of a Package Deal where I had bought the entire EVerest Base Camp trek from New York.
So three days hotel was included. The brocures claimed that it was a 4 Star Hotel. What a Joke. By the standard of the hotel, I would not give it much more that ONE star.
The Faucet continously leaked. The Carpet was filthy the AC was not effective. The Bath tub had cigrette burn marks even though it was a non smoking room. The curtains were filthy.
The room rate was quoted as US$50. I am sure that are many other hotels where you can pay much less and get better rooms.
Terrible experience.
