Excellent 4* hotel, good accomodation, and best of all the view on the mountains.
Even when you do not stay at the hotel, you can visit the view-point...
Nice atmosphere, good food (nepalese, chinees and indian buffet) and large rooms...

Cos of off-sesion we were only guests in 3 floor hotel. We got very good price, room was nice and clean, and the view from the room was nice.
Everything was really good in there, except coffee what we got in the morning- worth one ever! Good quality hotel designed so that all the rooms have a view of the mountains (weather permitting).
Viewing platform allows unrivalled views of the mountains at sunset. (You can see the mountains at sunrise from your own bedroom... how civilised!)

Located in Nagarkot, the mountain resort an hour's drive east of Katmandu and the favorite retreat of the Nepalese maharajas of the past. I went to Nagarkot and stayed at Club Himalaya and I knew why maharajas used to like this place so much. Located on top of the highest mountain in Nagarkot, the Club Himalaya's terraced balconies command the sweeping and unobstructed, 360%, panorama of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, all around and ahead of you and it is the best place in the world to watch sunrise over the Hamalayas, provided the morning is clear and the fog clears fast. Hotel View Point is located on the top of Nagarkot. Situated about 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu at an elevation of 7200 ft. above the sea level. From hotel's rooftop observation deck you can see the breathtaking view of the major Himalayan peaks including Manaslu (8463 m), Ganesh Himal (7111 m), Langtang (7246 m), Sisa Pangma (8013 m), Choyu (8153 m), Gaurishankar (7145 m) and Mt. Everest (8848 m) on a clear day. The rooms are well furnished and well equipted, plus in some, you can see the magnificent panoramic view of the mountains right from your window. The price (room-only) starts from 20 USD/night.

The Fort Resort is probably the best place to stay in Nagarkot. There's a sign that says it's 2000 m above sea level -- I'm not sure if that makes it the highest hotel in the world, but it's pretty high up there that breathing becomes a liiiiiittle bit difficult if you climb up the stairs to the roof too fast!
The daytime view from the roof is excellent and the food is quite good. The staff are friendly and for that one night we were there, they doubled up as entertainers... playing and singing Nepali music. One fellow was particularly nimble and did some wild moves that looked like a cossack dance by Jet Li.
As it can get quite cold at night, you may want to bring along some thick woolies, although the duvet and blankets are adequate enough to keep you warm while you sleep.
When you book rooms, you may want to book the ones that face the Great Himalayan Range. I forgot what room number I stayed in, but the view was superb.

Nagarkot is 32 km NE of kathmandu on the edge of the kathmandu valley. Nagarkot is famous for its himalayan views- the himalayan peaks at dawn are a magnificent sight to behold.
Peaceful Cottage & café du Mont, Nagarkot Hillstation is a simple but well-run resort which is north of Mahankal temple. The resort has a varied set of rooms such as budget room, standard, deluxe and the special 360 degree view family room.
Budget rooms are basic without any charm. The rooms are much cheaper and the price is $5.
Standard and deluxe rooms are comfortable with spectacular views from the room and the attached bathrooms. You don't even have to get out of room to appreciate the mountains. The tariff of the room is $ 30. The rooms are simple but neat, clean and very acceptable.
360 degree family room is our special room from which we can see an unbeaten 360 degree views. It also includes a fireplace, an attached bathroom and 3 bedrooms for $ 40 per night.

I was quite pleased with this place. The food was great, staff were friendly. The only complaint I could probably make is the heater. It's too small, didn't really help much when the weather was -1C.
