Most besutiful view while showering!!
by herzog63
As you pour a can of hot water over your head you can enjoy the views! I tried to limit my Hot showers as the hot water is made my burning wood and the wood comes from cutting down trees which causes erosion. So it's just something to think about while you are enjoying the views.

Sarangkot:Best views
by PierreZA
Just outside Pokhara, Sarangkot is a very popular tourist site. People arrive hear before sunrise in order to watch the beautiful picture of the sun shedding early morning glow on the Anapurna Range. You have great views from here, especially of Fish Tail peak.
There are many souvenir shops at the viewpoint, but you also get a glimpse of everyday life of the local people who live there.
It was quite cold the morning we were there, but some warm Nepali tea (chya) with added milk and spices such as cardamom and ginger helped a lot.
This is an experience not to be missed.
We took a taxi from Pokhara and back. The driver will wait a couple of hours for you.
The magnificent Annapurna panorama that's visible is quite incredible. The main peaks are Annapurna I to IV and the beautiful Machhapuchhare (or Fishtail Mountaian), and others.
Bindhya Basini Temple
by illumina
Founded in the 17th century, this temple is dedicated to the goddess Durga, the war-like aspect of Shiva's consort Parvati. Devotees worship the saligram or ammonite fossil placed here in her name.
All the people here were really friendly - including the woman collecting the parking fee, who didn't charge us since we were only on a small scooter!
Tashi Palkhiel Tibetan Refugee Settlement.
by euzkadi
A refugee camp founded in 1962 and home to 1,000 refuges. The camp was established by the Red Cross, and the Nepalese and Swiss Governments. In1959 China began gaining control over Tibet, many Tibetans left Tibet to India and Nepal. Being a refugee is hard in Nepal; they can´t find secure employment as they have no legal standing in the country, they are not permitted to acquire residential and other legal documents. They can´t travel to certain regions of the country or travel outside international borders. The camp offers food and shelter to them, they rely on the manufacture and sale of Tibetan carpets and handicrafts. A good way to help the camp is buying the souvenirs or making a donation.
