Shatung Pani.: Campground.

Did you know "Pani" means water in Urdu? Well, campsites are always near some streams or rivers and this place is no different. This is another of the designated campsites.

Bara Pani.: Campground.

Bara Pani is a designated campground in the Deosai Plains about 3 hours drive south of Skardu. There is a small river over which there is a suspension bridge which is flooded and destroyed every year and rebuilt in June/July. It is a good place for camping.

Camping.: Deosai Camping.

Camping is the only form of accommodation at Deosai. Surprised to see no hotels there even though this area is really beautiful, not too far away from Skardu and there is lots of space for building hotel resorts. Anyway, there are several prescribed campgrounds and it is better to stay there. Light a fire to make sure no bears come this area though! There is a check-point just before the Plains which is a good spot to stay for acclimization. Staying near streams or lakes is always a good idea.
