Guest houses in Islamabad Pakistan could be a good option to stay as it keeps the cost under a budget and the management pays more attention to its guests since they have to care about their business or they lose it. I personally stayed at NewCapeGrace Guest House located in the center of the city of Islamabad. A decent place where the owner, Mr. Karim Meghji, himself taking care of the business all the time. They have been ranked #1 Bed and Breakfast in the town. Read more reviews and checkout their listing at

There is a hill station near Islamabad and its known as 'Bhurbun'. The picture on the left is of Pearl Continental Hotel, Bhurbun. Its one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan and this hotel is considered to be one of the best ones. But its worth staying for a night in it. Its just 2 hours drive from Islamabad up in the north. The taxi can easily take you from Islamabad airport to Bhurbun in around 1000 - 1500 / - Pak. Rupees.
There are moderately priced Hotels, Motels and Resthouse. Located at a few places at Saidu Sharif, Mingora and few other places. It's depending on your activities and choice. I never sleep in the Hotel, for me at that time USD 20 is a big money...I can travell another 300 Kilometers with that amount of money. Normally in the Muslim countrys, I prefer to sleep in the mosque with my sleeping bag....the trouble is I have to wake up early, otherwise ,eaither they prey on me as a dead man or they throw me out from the mosque.
Islamabad has either two very expensive, impersonnal hotels or a wide assortment of hit or miss guesthouses. Capri in F-7/1, Street 35, House 10. Is well run, comfortable and reasonably priced. Moreover, it is just a few minutes walking distance to many excellent restaurants and shops.
the staff are very, very nice and really do their best to make you feel like it is your home.

I have just returned from Pakistan, during my visit I stayed in different cities and in different hotels. A week at New Cape Grace Guest House in Islamabad was the best out of all. The Guest house is magnificent and I have never experienced such incredible service before. Having been there first time in the country it was really hot and busy there. I couldn’t wait to get back to the peace and quite of the guest house.
The service was great. The staff there is very friendly and make sure anything you ask for gets done straight away. The management staff is also very helpful and humble.
My room was excellent. Very neat and tidy, Room service and laundry service is great. Food was great as well, cooked by their professional cooks. Pick up and drop off to the airport was also arranged by the guest house upon my request. It was very close to the market so I didn’t had to travel to far if I just want to go out, even the guest house will arrange a cab for you to go anywhere you want to go. Staff is also happy to help and give any information you want for travel and places of interest. Nice garden area in the guest house to relax out side, not noisy at all, nice and calm environment.
The guest house is run by father and son, both very wonderful person and ready to help anytime.
All in all I would say the out of all the places I stayed in Pakistan, New Cape Grace Guest House was the best place to stay. I enjoyed my stay there at a lot. Good value for money with great services provided.
Carry on your good work...Good Luck!!!
Amazing Internet connection to use at no extra cost (compare to other places in Islamabad)
Accurate on-time service
Helpul, multilingual and motivated staff
It is a mighty building with lush green lawns and greenery. Lobby is wide and well decorated. Rooms are very aesthetically designed. Service is great and food delicious. Most of all, the atmosphere is so peaceful that one just feels like at home.
Perhaps you would like to stay at a place where you could rest in a calm and peaceful atmosphere with all the facilities available. Please check out Continental Guest House, best guest house in Islamabad and surely you will get the comfort and care you enjoy in a five star hotel.
Beautiful & lush green lawn, Victorian look of building, huge corridors & dining rooms, Balconies, Internet facility in rooms & 24 hours food facility.
I visited Islamabad for 4 days in may, 2007. The guesthouse was brand new at this time, and had just opened when I visited. This means that everything is new, and the standard is high, but also that some routines may change in the time to come.
During my stay, I had a spacious, modern room with two single beds at my disposal. The room also has a big wardrobe, a large bathroom, a large flatscreen TV mounted on the wall and wireless internet access. There are lots of TV channels to choose from, and a huge pile of DVDs which can be watched.
The room is nice and quiet, and was perfect for getting some work done on my laptop. There was also a large desk in the room that served this purpose. The guesthouse also has its' own chauffeur, which willingly helps out with transport about town when he is available.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner was served and eaten with the other guests, and for me, this was a bonus, as I was new to both Pakistan and Islamabad. This way, the meals turned into pleasant occasions for exchanging hints and tips about Islamabad, and a nice way to get to know the others. We were served delicious pakistani meals for lunch and dinner, prepared by the cook.
There is also a shared kitchen, where guests could help themselves to food and soft drinks from the fridge. How this will work in practice at later stages is unsure, and might also vary for individual guests. I am quite sure however, that you will be shown great flexibility in how you want to organize your stay and your meals.
The meals are served in a big room which is shared between the guest rooms. There is a large sofa and a large flatscreen TV for those who prefer the company of the others to staying in their own room.
The area around the guesthouse is quiet and exclusive, which I thought a bonus. Islamabad has no real city center to my thinking, so it's difficult to say if the location of the guesthouse is ideal or not, it all depends on your errand in Islamabad.
great for scandinavian travellers as the hosts speak both english, norwegian, danish, swedish, urdu, punjabi and hindi.
Large, new, modern, spacious rooms with flat screen TVs and wireless internet access.
Situated in a safe, quiet and exclusive area of Islamabad.
To my mind, the guesthouse provides very good value for money.
I was in Islamabad for work and stayed at Ramada inn for four days. This is a nice little guest house with fewer rooms and a friendly staff. For 1500 RS. per night Ramda wasn't bad at all. Room was big with Television, airconditioning and a clean bathroom. Internet is available on demand and they are gonna charge you separately for it. Pick and drop from airport also available on extra cost. They charged me 500 RS to pick me up from airport. I was later told by a friend that a taxi would have cost not more than 250rs. Remember that room rates are negotiable they told me 2000rs and i talked them down to 1500rs. Tell them to give you the room upstairs it has a nice terrace with a wonderful view of margalla hills. The guest house is located at a convinient location local markets, businesses and important government offices are easily accessible from this point. The surrounding area is quite and peaceful.
Meals are ok but remember that melody food street is only a ten minutes walk away.
It has nice view from the rooms upstairs.
This place came recommended by a VT poster. When I booked, I discovered that the price wasn't Rs 800, but Rs 1800 (plus tax). They offered to pick me up at the airport, not mentioning that they'd charge at least double (Rs. 500) what a taxi would.
The rooms were big, yes. But the A/C felt like a dog panting on me. The bathroom light didn't work at all, and the shower didn't either. Sheets were none-too-clean.
I've stayed in $5 guest houses and been fine with these sorts of conditions. But at $30 a night (plus tax and transportation overcharge), this was awful.
Both are nice places, have a very nice staff. Executive was my favorite. Both are located on street 47 in F7, nice area. One block from Jinnah super, great place to do some shopping and eating.
There are many guest houses in Islamabad. I like Jasmine lodge 2 for its location, very friendly staff, clean rooms.
Internet access in each room, garden. Air condition and heater. Possibility to eat. Airport pick up. Security.
This guest house serves generally only United Nations workers, passing to and fro from Afghanistan, but the price is right and the service is great for any backpacker.
The owners are very responsive and kind. They always pick up at the airport, which is great since getting a normal taxi can be daunting. Even the kitchen is pretty good. Try the chicken chorma.
They provide soap, tv, air conditioning, mini bar, too.
