Hotel Emarat: In Old city Peshawar

Hi,

Peshawar, the city where I was born and bred.

Conservative and religious attitude is common.

Hotel Emarat , my favorite in old city, a few times I used it for my foreign friends, located in the heart of city, Namak Mandi, the famous barbecue street .

You shouldn't told them before check in so things could be sorted out but there are parks like Sher Khan Stadium, Tatara park where still you could meet her.

Good Luck ..

Khan Klub: Khan Klub

It is really nice hotel. Its in the heart of the old city. It is easy to walk around and see the atmosphere of the old city. Usually i take tourists to the Khan Klub for lunch, dinner and for over night stay.

Unique Quality: Traditional atmosphere, it is 200 years old restored Sikh Haveli (merchant’s house). It is has 7 rooms traditionally decorated with Lapis Stone.

Rose Hotel: One of the best in South Asia

After arriving in Peshawar I was a bit nervous because of the intensity of the city. I have never seen a city in my life that can match its chaotic excitment. Afghan men are everywhere making this type of place not for a rookie traveller. The Rose Hotel is like an oasis in the madness and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there for 3 nights. The staff was really nice and price was unbeatable.

Unique Quality: It had an amazing restaurant view and the window was tinted so nobody could see you looking at them or taking photos. Another great thing was the rooms all had toilets and the rooms had English satellite TV including ESPN and National Geographic making it a great option for nightime entertaiment. The final gem about this place was it is a reliable place to set up trips to the Khyber pass as their guide Prince Mahir is a well connected individual. The experience was great!

Tourist's Inn Motel: Traveler's Hangout

Not a bad place to stay at all! Has a bakery in front... friendly staff, great place to meet other travelers. Sleep on rope-beds, placed side by side each other, so you're actually sleeping pretty close to your neighbor. I think i'd accidentally kicked the Belgian lady beside me while i slept. Hot, communal showers. Shared kitchen.

a place opposite the rose hotel: peshawar places to stay

tourist inn in peshawar is not what it used to be- the dirty and crammed dorms are 150 rupees per head, stuff are rude and the only person i met there had his camera stolen there. rose hotel and the hotel opposite (forgot the name) are much better value for money with decent en suite doubles for 400-450 rupees.

Hotel Noor: Hotel Noor, means light, which it isn't

This place is decent, and cheaper than the Rose Hotel, where everyone else seems to stay.
It's only $5, though no hot water, unlike the Rose ($7) where there was hot water one day, but not the next.
THe staff was nice. IT's kinda a macho place, but where isn't in Peshawar.

Hunza Baltit Inn: Hunza Baltit Inn

No idea , on a small group tour.

Unique Quality: A very welcoming inn/hotel, and this is the view from the other side of the valley, so it's almost the same as what you see from the verandah of the inn. Food is superb, and we were waited on like kings. We had a full moon also, so it was like magic.

Kashgar Gilgit International...

Kashgar Gilgit International Hotel, in Kashgar.
unknown,was on a bus tour.

Unique Quality: Adequate rooms, food okay. The higher up you go, the least likely you are to have hot water.

unsure: Two nights in Tashkurgan

on bus trip, so don't know

Unique Quality: They still have the old Russian way of having someone keep the keys, and lock and unlock the door for you. If you are going out, you leave the keys behind. Also, you can get hot water here for the bath, for one hour a day.But it was a very good place to stay, quite up to date for this part of the world.
