Regale Internet Inn: A budgeted guest house in Lahore
Bonjour from Peshawar,
The border ceremony the best option to be on Pakistani side due to less crowd.
PTDC motel is located on Pakistani side of the border, close to border.
You'd need the Pakistani porters to bring the luggage to PTDC motel, the Indian porters'd be stopped almost at the gate, better to stay in Lahore, I'd suggest you
Regale Internet Inn (a backpackers's den)
Regale cinema, mall road, Lahore.
It is some 45 minutes drive from Border to Lahore city, don't pay more than 400 Pkrs to taxi.

Regale Internet Inn: A great welcome to Lahore
The Regale Internet hotel is a good backpackers place to stay - rooms are perhaps a little grotty, but the rooftop terrace is a nice place to hang out, chat and watch TV, there's free use of a washing machine, free use of the kitchen, free filtered water (and a fridge to keep it and your food in), and friendly, helpful staff. The sufi/qawwali evenings are a must - and all you pay for is your transport.

Budget accommodations in Lahore
If you are on budget but want a comfortable place to stay in Lahore, then head towards McLeod Road (up to Lakshmi Chowk from Railway Station). Hop on van # 9, 14 or 34 from Lahore Railway Station and ask the driver to drop you on “Lahore Hotel” stop; ten minutes ride. This stop is an intersection of McLeod Road and Montgomery Road and you will find a number of hotels to choose from on both the roads. Still unable to find a place to stay; then have a short walk to Abbot Road for more hotels to choose from.
Other plus points to stay in this area:
Mcleod Road provides an added advantage of ample public transport available round the clock. You can explore a big part of Lahore by hopping on buses and vans from this road. For the other areas not covered by transport network here, you still have the option to take a 10 minutes ride to Lahore Railway Station and can explore the rest of Lahore.
Lahore’s oldest and still prime eating hubs are located on Mcleod Road and on Abbott Road. Countless varity of mouth watering local cuisine at cheap rate. How can you feel hungry when breakfast is available until 10am and dinner is available until 4 am?
Lahore’s biggest chain of cinemas and theaters are all located on McLeod Road and Abbott Road.

Lahore hotel: Nice location to stay
"Lahore hotel" is the best choice for me when ever i visit lahore. It is just about 15 minutes drive to fortress stadium. and just 10 minutes drive to FOOD street lahore.
I advise dont waste time in hiring and fighting with taxi drivers. Contact the manager at lahore hotel and they will provide u their own highroof van on much reasonable price then taxi drivers demands++ their driver will not charge much if u be late there in shoppin etc and will respect u.
I took a double bed ac room in just 1200 ruppes, which is reasonable price.
it is located at good palce.

Best Westen Shalimar-Lahore: Beware of billing!
I was on a business trip and stayed 18 days in Aug 2006. The Service was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was centrally located to where I had to visit on a daily basis.
The aircondition would blow hot or cold at the wrong time. The package trowels promised in the batroom were never given. Hot water was not available on a regular basis. Phone lines didn't work properly. Repairs were carried out while I was in the room. I paid full price for the room. Had to change rooms many times. Sometimes two in a day. I was forced to pay for the mini bar which I never used. The billing was erratic. The wifi system never worked properly. I had to pay high bills on dial-up interenet which was not informed before.
price too high for a single accommodation.
The manager doesn't live upto his promises although he talks sweetly.
only centrally located.

Best Western Hotel: Very Economical
Well, if you dont want to waste more on luxury accomodation and concentrate more on living Lahore to its fullest then this is a good place to stay. There service is alright and the rooms are comfortable. Ofcourse if your staying venue is of more importance then u might choose Holiday inn or Pearl Continental.
A good place to stay overall. All basic facilities. Good for single or two people at the best.

Regale Internet Inn: Great Service
This place is a busy spot for overlanders due to its charm and attraction of fellow travellers. It is a great spot ot meet travellers and swap stories and advice about each others adventures. The owner according to LP and other books has quite a reputation for helping people but I found his sons to be the guys to go to for friendliness and chat. Malik the owner has connections everywhere and he can arrange for travellers to explore his city. Great fun.

Good hotel next to Liberty Market. Clean room, but little noisy for rooms with windows on the street.
Restaurant is ok but Breakfast buffet is not so good with its cold ready made fried eggs and toasts, no fresh juices....

The Ashiana Motel
The Ashiana Motel is one of nice places to stay in Lahore. The motel is located near Fortress stadium , opposite to Cantt railway station.
The rooms are nice and well maintained with extensive interior work. They charged me Rs. 2000 ( US $ 30) on bed and breakfast basis for single room. Complimentary services included:
Airport pick and drop
Welcome tea on arrival
Filtered Drinking Water
The motel is around 2 Km from airport and just on walking distance from shopping malls of Fortress stadium. Based on my personal experience i can recommend you to stay at Ashiana motel.
Their rooms are spacious and comfortable with king size bed and sofas. Trendy furniture of brass and wood is provided in each room. Each room has luxurious soft texture deep cut pile carpet and remote control curtains.
Satellite TV channels on 21" TV are available around the clock. Each room comes witj mini bar and split type air conditioner. In winters they have decent heating system. Each room comes with well maintained bathroom. Hair dryer is provided in each room. Business center facilities are also available.

Gulberg Palace Hotel
It have stayed at Gulberg Palace Hotel for two times. Its a nice small hotel in Gulberg III near Cavalry Ground. They charged me Rs.1100 ( US $ 19 appox) on bed and breakfast basis. Their rooms are clean but not so impressive in terms of interior.
All rooms come with mini bar, satellite TV, phone, AC and attached bathroom. Lighting in room is not appropriate and it looks too dark inside. Breakfast was served inside room which included juice, tea, toasts and omlete.
You can get a better deal some where else if you are willing to pay few hundred rupees ( US $ 5 appox) more. But if you have no other option left and budget is a bit tight then go for Gulberg Palace Hotel.

Best Western Shalimar Hotel
Whenever i go to Lahore, my first preference is to stay at Best Western Shalimar. The hotel is very well located, clean, well maintained and affordable at the same time.
You would often see their GM himself present at reception taking care of guests along with Guest Relations Manager. It shows the care they show towards their guests.
I would simply say that just go for this hotel. You would not be disappointed.
You can get single bed room for US $ 30 with buffet breakfast. Double room would cost you approximately US $ 36. Complimentary pick and drop from airport/ deawoo terminal is also provided. Complimentary newspaper and shoe shinning facility is also available.
Casper restaurant serves delicious Pakistani, Chinese, Continental, Italian and Mexican dishes. Prices are very reasonable and food is simply delicious. Staff is curtious and service is always impressive.
24 Hours room service is available. Each of their carpeted and air conditioned room comes with neat attached bath, TV with more then 100 channels, Telephone in room and bathroom, dryer, dressing table, guest sofas and tables and mini bar.

Various Hotels: Hotels in Lahore
Due to the recent International Hockey Competition, all the Lahore hotels were fully booked as such I had the pleasure of switching 4 different hotels in the 1 week I was there.
My reviews are as follows:
Grand lobby, tight security and good service.
With their own shopping gallery.
Excellent quality but expect to splurge. PKR6000+ for a double room.
Nice boutique hotel.
Friendly but inexperienced staff who nevertheless tries to please.
Old wing rooms are clean and comfortable but furnishing are a little dated.
PKR2500+ for the old wing single room.
I recommend paying a lttle more for the new wing with new furnishings and fixtures.
Leaders Inn (+92 42 6300 740)
Newly opened boutique hotel.
PKR3750+ for single room
Excellent service and nice modern rooms.
Very friendly staff who took extra care of me as I was a lone female traveller.
Unfriendly and rude staff.
Very rundown rooms, poor lighting and furnishings.
Poor value for money
