Most underwhelming 'five-star' experience
Pearl Continental Bhurban may claim to be a five star hotel (it certainly has more security than the Presidents House) but it is NOT a five star hotel. The staff at the front desk is extremely unhelpful and even discourteous. The corridors reek of a nauseating stale odor reminiscent of PIA airplanes. The furniture is tacky. The bathroom fittings are rusting. There is no internet in the rooms. All PC Bhurban has to recommend itself is the picturesque setting. But then again there are dozens of guest houses and hotels in Murree and Nathiagali with equally beautiful setting but for a much better price and experience.
Unique Quality: Nice gardens. Disgusting pool: it is small and murky. Average food.
Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Luxury in the mountains
My wife and I went to the Pearl Continental in Bhurban and spent our honeymoon there. There is a pick-and-drop service from Islamabad airport to the hotel for which they charge PKR 200 (at least back then), ie almost 5 years ago.
The hotel itself is wonderful. You wouldn't believe that it's possible to build such a luxury hotel that really deserves a five-star rating in the middle of the mountains in such a remote area. The surroundings of Bhurban are absolutely breathtaking. The perfect location for spending your honeymoon.
On top of that, they have excellent restaurants in the hotel where you get everything from local Pakistani food to International cuisine. (I even had Schnitzel there, which is a typically Austrian dish)
My special recommendation: Try the apple juice at PC Bhurban. It's made from fresh apples of the region and you will never forget it's taste.
Unique Quality: The PC Bhurban has all you need and much more. There's a pool, sauna, bowling alley, computer game room, lush green garden, wonderful mountain-view, excellent rooms and service, great food, pick-and-drop from Islamabad and the list goes on and on.

Murree's best accomodation
I was in this pc bhurban hotel for just one nite, anyway one nite left me with so much memories. At nite they have entertainment for few hours, great songs by local artistes. Kinda remind me of some hindi films that i ve watched before hahaha. the views is so great and you can enjoy from your room. Service is good. Food is ok. They have most 5 star hotel offers so i must say its a pleasant stay.
Unique Quality: some indoor shops offering some local antiques and stuff. Great views

Staying at PC Bhurban
PC Bhurban is about 10 km from Murree. It is a world class hotel. Much expensive than other ordinary hotels situated at Murree. It is not suitable for budget travel. Only those woh have more money and time to stay there are advised to stay. People who don't have personal coveyance and limited time to see Murree and the nearest spots should stay at hotels in Murree which are economical. Form here you can easlily see the main Murree.

The main hotel
There are an over whelming amount of hotels and guest houses in Murree city (on the Mall road). They are fairly priced and VERY basic. Be aware that they are normally built poorly on the side of a mountain and this area is prone to earth quakes, so choose wisely.
The “PC Bhurbon “as it is called locally, is a very nice hotel that rivals world class standards in the summer time. It is a large hotel with just about every facility you could possibly need or want to include squash/racquet ball courts, bowling alley, disco, amphitheater over looking an incredible valley etc..
It tends to be a bit expensive, but still reasonable for western standards.
after many trips and accomodations experiences i concluded "woodberry" best at services and place , in murree proper all hotels are situated three sides one at mall road second imtiaz shaheed road and kashmir point road the mall road hotels are older than both other catogery because they were first as murree was developing and they are not well maintained and up to date also there is big problem that is traffic on mall road tarffic is not allowed and on kashmir road is always in traffic jams condition due to heavy load also there is lack of parking, other side kashmir point road there are some new hotels build in recent time which are according to todays living and services and dont have problems like traffic jams and lack of parking but they are far away from mall road , so there i found only hotel woodbery situated at the best site around murree at 5 minutes walking distance from g-p-o towards kashmir point road also this road is free from traffic any time there is no traffic jams and parking problems like imtiaz shaheed road and mall road, also the services given at wood berry hotel are the best hotels arround murree, i rated it third after pc bhurban and punjab hutts in murree region, easy to approach to mall road in both walking and driving ,no traffic jams and parking problem like imtiaz shaheed road or mall road,
A good value for money
by Faiza-Ifrah about PTDC Cottages.
We have stayed in Mariott, Karachi, Mariott, Islamabad, Inter-Continental, Lahore and Inter-Continental, Bhurban. The food and servicing in all hotels of this class is exemplary. We have particularly enjoyed the local ambience that these hotels offer. For those appreciating music, classical and folk music sessions are regularly held every evening.
For foreigners traveling in Pakistan, the best bet in remoter tourist attractions are the cottages maintained by the Government's Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). These cottages are usually located near the scenic spots. PTDC cottages are economical offering great views.

bonjour mes amis,
Mirpur the city of Azad Kashmir, famous for being many Mirpuris in UK.
Swat valley's one of the pieces of garden of Eden on the earth, Marghazar, Madyan, Kalam, Mahodand lake etc.
Bhurbhan's another beautiful part of Pakistan, if you're hiker, you can take some nice walks their, like Ghrial trek, 2,3 hrs gentle walk in the forest over a good trail.
Tres bon voyage,
Imran Schah

Haven't heard of Dacoits on the Swat side.
If you are in Azad Kashmir, why not explore the Nelum and other valleys in AK. Haven't been there but heard they are quite beutiful and scenic.
August will also be rainy season, so do expect more rain where ever you go.

Swat people are very soft and gentle. Dacoits are not seen at all. This is misleading. Yes you can come accross a dacoite any where in any city or country. Hundreds of people are visiting Swat with famalies these days. You dont find a single room available in the hotels. And this is happening inspite of bad road conditions which is under repair at many places.
Do visit Fiza Ghat about 12 KMs ahead of Mangora. You may stay there also. Inquire about hotels from Tele No 094617( if dialling from pakistan). ask any thing u want to know more.
